Day 3: Party | Music | Games
This took me SO long to make and render, but god was it worth it. I was almost afraid that this wasn't going to render how I wanted it to but I think it still came out as well as I had hoped it would! A little game day, Mann vs Machine style!

♡synopsis: Nishimura Riki. The Robot created by Yang Jungwon himself, a robot that is insanely human like, inside and out. No one could tell he was a robot. However, the Robot had possessed demonly powers, from Satan himself. So I guess you could see it's a half robot. Yang y/n, the younger sister of Jungwon finds herself stuck to this robot 24/7 no matter what she tried, he will always be by her because she's his muse, his world, his love, his obsession.
✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧
(PART 1)
No one knew how it happened, or what even happened. Jungwon never even gave this charming robot any ability to feel any sort of feelings a human would feel. Yet this Robot was staring at this beautiful, his memory card now filled with all kinds of videos of her, facts about her, her favourite things, people, crush. He's so obsessed with her. No one knows that though.
Riki watched as y/n dried her hair. "Staring at humans counts as creepy, disrespectful and weird NI-KI bot." Jungwon simply said as Riki didn't bother turning away. There was a heart blooming within his metal insides. Literally. There was a heart. That heart was beating just for her. He watched as Y/n applied some tinted lip gloss over the lip tint she was wearing.
"Beautiful." The male said in Japanese, his voice deep as fuck. Y/n turned around frowning "Your boy toy said something in a foreign language-" Y/n said as Jungwon also frowned. "I had a Japanese scientist help me out on this project, so he also communicates in Japanese... he knows every language in the world though" Jungwon explained proudly as Y/n rolled her eyes. She tried to turn on the hair dryer but it wasn't working "Ugh I have a nerdy brother who loves metal more than girls, and this stupid hairdryer isn't working?!" Y/n complained as Jungwon rolled his eyes.
"NI-KI bot." Jungwon simply called out as he left the room with some files. The robot approached her, the scent of her freshly washed hair hitting the sensors in his nose "Coconut... delicious" he said as he held the hairdryer, the machine suddenly working. Y/n gasped, smiling "Oh my god this is so cool!" She exclaimed as Riki smiled, drying her hair. Y/n was very awestricken by the beauty this robot held, the unreal, human like skin, even his eyes were like those of a human, fuck he can even smile, move, talk, walk and do everything the way a human can.
"You scare me... but at times I wish there was a real man like you... handsome, kind, perfect, caring." Y/n sighed as Riki tilted his head a little "Why's that?" Riki asked as Y/n pouted "Because so many men these days don't respect women... Don't tell won but there's some boys in my class, ugh shameless pervs. It's like... God made sure that every man ever made had to have flaws when it comes to dating." She added with a pout.
Riki listened intently, Registering every little detail. "I'm a good man Yang Y/n you can count on me!" he replied as Y/n blinked in silence, that silence then followed by her sweet laughter as she pat the robot's chest, oh how fast his heart was beating as she suddenly squished his chest a little "Wow you feel like a human too... god you're so cute NI-KI bot... maybe Jungwon's projects aren't so boring afterall" she said with a smile.
"I'm not taking a metal boy toy to prom!!!" Y/n exclaimed as Jungwon rolled his eyes "No one needs to know he's a robot... and I need you to be safe so you will." He warned as y/n sighed. Riki walked out, dressed in a suit looking sharp as ever, his black hair now slightly longer, his skin glowing. There's no way this thing is real. That was until she saw him dance in prom. So full of energy, so perfect, any idol would give up their career seeing how flawlessly he danced.
However, Something Jungwon noticed was that Riki was acting strange. Since when was his robot able to smile? since when was this robot able to drink liquids and eat human foods? and since when did this robot know how to treat women. Specifically Y/n. Oh he noticed those lingering hands, awe stricken eyes. Which is what led to him trying to destroy the robot. "Master won... how could you?... I- I see you as my father!" the robot exclaimed as Jungwon stared in shock.
That's how it all started. With Jungwon giving up, allowing the robot to love his sister, having been given no other choice. Heck when he opened Riki's chest, his own heart almost jumped out through his mouth seeing a real human heart beating withing the metal rib cages. How did this happen? No one knows.
Poor y/n was still clueless of everything. Everyday she walked to school, the amount of boys that studied there were decreasing by the day. She walked in one day only to find the 4 perverted students she always complains about, bloody and stabbed into the wall. So many murder cases were happening around and she was just in an emotional rollercoaster.
"Let it out y/n... it's good for Human's to cry... here Cry in my embrace... I'll protect you sweetheart" The robot offered. She was a little triggered by the nickname, but still accepted the metal man's comfort, his arms so muscular and human like, she couldn't' help but squeeze the biceps and allow herself to shamelessly snuggle into his chest. He felt so... comfortable. The robot inhaled the scent of her hair, smirking down at her.
Y/n gasped, jolting up all of a sudden. "Y-You have a heart beat- that's weird..." Y/n said as Riki shrugged. That very night, y/n was out on a walk. Out of the blue, a male had pushed her to the wall. Of course, one of the friends of those perverted boys. "You... you did something didn't you?! Who the fuck did you hire you little bitch?!!!" he yelled as he yanked her hair, putting a blade to her neck. Wrong move. Very wrong move.
Within seconds, that blade melted in his hand. Beside him, that handsome, creepy Nishimura Riki. "What the fuck?!... who's this- oh... so this must be the whore who killed them huh?" The man said as Y/n frowned. She flinched when he tried to Punch Riki with his bladed knuckles. But nothing happened. his skin still intact, face still the same. "What the fuck...-" the male said to himself as he pulled out a blade and tried to stab Riki, the knife bent in half and snapped.
That second. He knew he fucked up. Riki's fingers wrapped around his neck and dug into his human skin "NI-KI BOT NO NO- THAT'S MURDER- YOU KNOW THIS" Y/n explained as the robot adopted a rather sinister smirk. His grip tightening, fingers now ripping into the man's throat, blood and flesh coating his hand and the floor as he finally let go hearing Y/n's scream.
"Oh no darling... now now, calm down only a little blood... it's only murder if you humans kill a human... I'm no human baby... plus I did this for you... I did all of this for you baby... I told you I'm your man I can trust you, but all these men are trying to hurt you..." Riki said, a small cute pout on his lips as Y/n just fainted, her head hitting his chest. "There there, I've got you princess... Finally have you to myself..." He smiled, patting her cheek as he carried her home. This day, the demon brought hell to y/n...

ii s3 liveblog
I'm a bit sad rn so sorry if my reactions are bad this time
1 - I'm not supposed to relate to Balloon am I. y'know. the guy that did something bad in the recent past and now everyone hates them even though they're trying to change.. sigh. wHAT? h. how is he here?? HOW IS SHE HERE??? ...does MePhone look different from how he was in the first half of s2? it's been a bit since I watched that but I swear there's something different about him. oh, new intrthe island is alive. warp pipe.
2 - yup sure :) 👍 right okay BOW is glitching now. something to do with chairs and maybe she lost her memories? she was obsessed with chairs before she died, so..oh fuck I'm taking as many notes as Cabby huh
3 - oh I thought I had something to say about this one. sorry
4 - if the floor gets eliminated, how will that work? .yo WHAT is going on with candleMUMBO JUMBO CATCHPHRASE ... I. I don't think that's what polishing a screen does.?
5 - what if Box wins lol ..oh. wait there was no formal elimination, I guess that got replaced with Box being pulled this episode
6 - them ,,,,,they,both of them,, the cool(s) -> ☯
7 - well call me a camera because [screenshots the auras file]. . . . . . . . . . a. ..nobody knows about this joke yet but if I had a- uh. nickel. for every time a series I know about had a character named Bow with trigger words, I would have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice what is going on with Bow and chairs. HEY MARSHMALLOW TOO?? yes I will keep doing this strikethrough bit
8 - oh fuck I just realized. "iii" as in Inanimate Insanity Invitational but also as in 3 (roman numeral) because it's season 3. also just based on the title I have a bad feeling about this episode (<-half-right??) wait WHAT. MePhone what the fuck does that rnean. whhaaAAAA- oh. agdjhk s ghdclod damn it the commercial is pLOT RELEVANT. hhhhey quick question. how uh. how do we know that everyone's back in the right body..? like. there were some characters who weren't onscreen after they all died again. uhh
9 - th. this episode is probably not like. actually worse than the other ones or anything. but, with the bias I had already formed because I distrust people with the name of the one this episode is a collab with, some stress I was already feeling today before even starting this liveblog, something Balloon said at around 9:14, said pre-liveblog stress making me associate the whole "animation machine" thing (which is seen as bad) with something I like but everyone else hates, I personally have nothing good to say about it.
10 - why is Cabby gold. oh it's whoever has the Immunity Cookie. wait did Cabby forget about TBD because her file was burned??
11 - bat? pokemon. the game you're thinking of is pokemon. wait did he say backstab HOW DOES HE KNOW CANDLE SAW BETRAYAL?? ..yeah I was wondering how that would work
12 - I knew it. I knew Cabby would forget stuff that isn't in a file! urghhh can they Please vote out silver spoon already. he's not gonna WIN, right?? sorry. but I don't like him.
13 - oh the intro reflected Bot's change in appearance. neat! nononoononoNONOONNO GAUhokay. listen I know it's probably not going to happen but I really want YinYang to win. and holy shit that "for the rest of your life" was foreshadowing.
14 - okay off to a start that makes me want to punch something. okay. okay. it's not a real ad. good. HUH HE GLITCHED holy shit, damn uzumaki lookin rooms what is this /positive(?) ☯ 👈 GRIAN INSTINCT (which. to be fair, mood). p u r p l e . PURPLE ACKNOWLEDGED. WHAT WAS THAT! ohhh what the hell. you fuck off this INSTANT you silver shitface. ohh I hate him. I hate him more than I hate Cobs. ..does Cabby not have parents? SPLRINGY IS FAKE. SPRINGY IS A ROBOT OR SOMETHING MADE BY COBS I'M CALLING IT NOW. please please please kill the spoon kill the spoon plEASE- ARRGHHH
15 - seeing as the next episode has Blueberry in the thumbnail and is called The Great Bluish Bake Off, I have a slight prediction on who will win the rejoin. wait what. yeah I'm gonna be honest I don't think it was murder. NO NONONOONO DON'T NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAUGHHH,,,,,
16 - why....why am I finding Nickel so relatable. w h a t . now I've never had oatmeal raisin cookies, but I don't think they're the Number One Cause of global warming. I know it's a cartoon and awHAT THE HELL HE JUST DIED
(between 16 and 17) m. MePhone knows. MePhone knows what's going to happen when the season ends, doesn't he? that's why he doesn't want it to. that's why he's desperate. but the question remains, what does he know that the viewers don't?
17 - wait this episode is from 10 months ago. is- is the series not over? damn it! I prefer to binge watch stuff so I don't forget while waiting for new episodes. oh don't even fucking go there. 14:01 FUCK OFF.
(between 17 and 18) y'know I was trying to watch this to ESCAPE all the drama and discourse everyone hates me for. this just feels personal at this point. but hey, who cares about me, right? onto the next damn episode!
18 - there's another 4 under that 4. are they all 4s. ohhh noooo, what an inteeense moooooment. wow it's really fucking difficult to care right now.
19 - again final episode so I'll break this into sections. kinda
..,.Cabby..I think I understand a bit more about my own..situation because of Cabby. wait wait. "built" to? BUILT to?? HMMMMMM 4S is still here?? what ??? ? well at least the one that YinYang wanted to win won..!
and that's season 3 huh.
well. that was kinda filler? tbh?
and the message in episode 17 sucked- ..eh. hold on. I'm getting too angry over some discourse. I need a break from typing this.
okay after like half an hour I realized something. they were trying to win an award. I like AI art, but I don't think it should ever win any awards in competition with human art. the two are fundamentally different. I don't think there should be any competitions that have both, especially high prestige ones. that line at 14:0whatever was too far though.
my opinion is that human art and AI art are both art. but they're VERY different forms of art, and should probably be kept that way.
overall I liked the season. sure, YinYang didn't win and episodes 9 and 17 are...like that. but it's not that bad tbh.
probably gonna watch the rest of s2 tomorrow, but for now I just want to play minecraft.
#the fuck up won't shut up!#ii#ii invitational#inanimate insanity#there's a bit of a rant about#ai discourse#in here so I'll tag that.

Yeah WHOOOOH!! I took yesterday night, from 8/9pm to 11pm, STYAED UP ALL NIGHT CAUSE I COULDNT SLEEP FROM THESE TWO, stayed up until like.. 10am, fell asleep, woke up at 2:40pm and BAM! FINSIHED AFTER A DAY!! YIPPIEROONIES!!! (Edit: Two days, since I had to leave, came back at 9:50pm, finished at 11pm cause bedtime lockdown, then woke up at 10am today and started to do it again, so I technically finished at 2pm today)
I have a feeling that someone reading this started liking the ship, or felt curious about their rare pair interaction (if they had any/lh), but either way, I’ll tell you how THIS rare pair even EXSISTED.
(THE LORE OF WHY I EVEN SHIPPED CABLOON)
Let’s start from the beginning. In some of the episodes, before I knew I kin cabby, I always had a little fascination towards balloon, his issues living with him for so long and how he still struggles to make a good image of himself was just. Cute to me (stop I KNOW you simp for objects too.. DONT DENY IT!!)
And at episode 17, after I found out I kin cabby, I started to like their interactions more, and since this ship was a HEAVY SELF INSERT, It somehow made sense.
They both struggled to gain a good image, they both had a toxic friendship in the past that got resolved, they both have TOO MUCH ISSUES, and they both act like each other so much it’s actually wild
None of us EVER cared to really analyze hidden relationships in the show, and this is actually a good example, if I never simped for balloon like the ‘loon’atic I am
*knee slap*
I would’ve NEVER noticed their cute feelings for each other
As much as I wanna continue talking, I feel like this ramble will never end, so I give you a cabloon doodle!
And I bid you farewell *bows dramatically*

[SPOILERS FOR III 14 UNDER CUT]
you know that video GD colon put out about how bad generation retro is? what you’re about to read is about on the same league as that.
of all the object show episodes i’ve watched, III 14 was the first that i walked away from thinking “wow! that was shit!” it had so many of the same pitfalls as the previous III episodes did, but somehow even worse (incredible feat, i must say). but i’ll only cover my three biggest problems. starting with…
springy. not unlike how toppinbot describes noisette, springy is beyond annoying. their voice makes my toes curl, and i die a little on the inside whenever they’re on screen. they also apparently had a “haha im evil” twist, which i saw coming a mile away, even without my glasses on. also, they look like a garten of banban/poppy playtime character, just thought i’d point that out.
melodrama. the latter half of the episode was just melodrama. and i mean JUST melodrama. nothing else besides characters just going boohoo woe is me ówò ;-; and half of it is relating to conflicts and arcs in II2 that have already concluded. it honestly just feels like the guys at animationepic only shoehorned so many II2 references into III so they can go “see? we haven’t forgotten about II2!!” as if they haven’t been DISREGARDING established lore from that season, implying it isn’t canon anymore, coupled with the fact that III only is the way it is because AE decided that II2 was “getting too dawk and scawy ;-; uwu…..” like oh yeah THAT business decision wasn’t at all made for marketing reasons. /s
and of course, i’m saving the best/worst for last.
cabby and bot. both of these characters are known for being handled TERRIBLY. for cabby, she’s mentally disabled (my first guess was some form of memory loss, but i honestly don’t feel like double-checking) but is constantly mistreated by writers and characters for her aid, being the files. and for bot, they had a trans-allegory arc stemming from not wanting to just be bow, but the whole reason they exist at all is because AE wanted bow in III, and their personality is basically just bow’s with some sliders moved ever so slightly. (the cabby problem is more relevant here, but you get the idea) and in III 14, the two were paired up for the challenge. just the two of them, they could make it if they tried, BUT THE WRITERS DIDN’T!! instead they figured out some voodoo magic buffoonery that helped them pull off the unthinkable! because during a scene where cabby requests that bot tells her a little about themself to write down in their file, BOT STARTS MAKING UP RIDICULOUS LIES. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, ANIMATIONEPIC, CUT IT OUT WITH THE ABLEISM, WILL YA?! and during disability pride month of all times, too. what were you THINKING?!
so yeah. a fan-favorite character just tried to sabotage a mentally disabled woman’s aid for shits and giggles.
TL;DR, III 14 sucked ass. the entire 27-or-so-minute runtime was used for nothing but melodrama, cabby mistreatment, character assassination, and mascot horror cliches. (boooo springy booooooo booooo get off the stage boooo fuzz the cat did it better)
that’s just my opinion, though. feel free to share how you felt. i’m gonna go watch TPOT 6.

What's interesting about hetalia is that it's actually not all harmful stereotypes overall. Most countries are portrayed more or less close to reality, and people from them admit it.
However, when it comes to Ukraine, the most desirable by russia land - something suddenly changes, and we have this stupid, poor and blonde russia's sister - not actual Ukraine. When it comes to Belarus - suddenly, we have this malicious bitch who wants to marry russia - not actual Belarus. When it comes to Latvia - we have this spineless crybaby, russia's lackey - not actual Latvia. When it comes to Lithuania - we have a sexualised poor maiden without his own culture who grovels before russia - not actual Lithuania.
Why are these countries' portrayals so misleading if others are being portrayed more or less okay? What was the reason? What for is the contrast so big yet so unobvious to foreigners? To make people all over the world not believe us in case russia invades us? What did we do to deserve this? This is not just historical inaccuracy, this is straight-up misinformation and russian propaganda.
Google clears any information about sold manga copies very well, because they probably realised they fucked up. Although, most likely they just "changed the shoes", since Ukraine refused to die.
Look, there are lots of harmless stereotypes, like Belaruthians who love potatoes or Ukrainians who love borshch, Latvians who love sport, Lithuanians who love nature - and there is A LOT of information you can find being a Japanese WHO STUDIED IN NEW YORK CITY if you put a little bit more effort, to make your characters more accurate, more interesting. I highly doubt that New York would not have any books about never-soviet countries, considering how many migrants from the USSR there were, and how many Americans hate communism.
However, there are actually very harmful stereotypes, for example, about never-soviet countries being russia's siblings. We should have started sounding the alarm. Even back then, in the 2010s' we felt our portrayal was wrong. So terribly wrong - but we had no reason to yell about that before because until 2014, russia didn't invade others. And we were russified, and we tried to befriend russia because we believed they were also happy with the USSR breakdown.
There is literally one logical explanation to Himaruya's behaviour. All those sudden changes in early concepts of russia and Belarus, sudden disappearance of Ukraine and Belarus from the manga completely, as if they do not exist, this hilarious fixation on Brexit when the biggest event (in Eastern Europe for 100%) was the russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014. All of it can be explained by one simple word: money. He was simply bought by russia. Russia spends billions on misinformation, bots, and missiles. Of course, they couldn't have missed such a profitable cow as some clueless dropout, popular in USA Hidekaz Himaruya.
Anon once asked how I could attack Himaruya if he just draws stuff. Well, Margarita Simonyan, the chief editor of the information agency "Russia Today", director of the TV channel "Russia Today", who just says stuff, who wasn't well-known in the USA at all, and even now is probably unknown, who most likely never shot Ukrainian children herself, is officially considered a war criminal. Do you know why? Maria Lvova-Belova, who wasn't well-known before 2022 in the USA, who just says stuff like "I'm helping Ukrainian children to adapt in new russian families" is OFFICIALLY CONSIDERED A WAR CRIMINAL. Can you guess why? These two women are considered war criminals, and they weren't widespread in the USA, unlike Hidekaz Himaruya, who officially sold more than 40 million copies of his manga worldwide.
I'm not saying that we should crucify Himaruya or file a complaint against him to the International Court of Justice. I'm saying that we should add him to Myrotvoretz since his actions "have signs of crimes against the national security of Ukraine, peace, human security and international law".

rick introduces himself to parsley. they shake hands nice. he looks at the ruins and says it was his prior target. guess were going in. he wants to see what his target was before finding a new purpose. its badly damaged since its been 900 years.
he has a zoom feature xD wheatley checks if he does lol. many of his features have been forgotten. wheatley zooms in on parsleys face lol. crumbled walls block the path. parsley flies over it. ricky fucking springs up the ledge wtf. of course wheatley wanna does that. he fails. senna helps him up. teya uses the broom and it smacks her. senna says she will help her but the broom suddenly shoots straight up!
ricky just goes to scout ahead. wheatley grabs the edge nice. the broom stops midair and goes into freefall. parsley goes to catch her but the broom moves to the side and keeps falling the asshole. parsley manages to catch the broom and he goes for a ride xD parsley threatens to put it in the token. it starts spinning fucking hell toward the ground. it stops fucker. talk about whiplash. at least their in the city.
senna zen and android get up somehow lol. parsley is just laughing on the ground and teya just weakly thumbs up. senna tells teya to compliment it. teya is just pissed. we dont see ricky. wheatley pings and hears one in the distance so we follow.
its barely a city now its all just rubble. some of the buildings have scorched stones and are blackened. wheatley comments he doesnt like that. android said it might not be just time that took the city down. senna rubs the stone to check how old it is. pretty freakin old. teya finally catches up. she scolds the broom and it shoves her lol. as soon as teya takes out the token it begins zooming around. it jabs her in the back lol. the broom got a 1 in the token it goes!
parsley asks where things go in the tokens. zen says its stored like bags of holding, connected to the domain. if the tokens get full it just wont let stuff in. its got a big limit. zen says not to put people in there they wont have air. wheatley could do it tho lol.
wheatley keeps pinging. we hear a ping but its rapid fire! run! wheatley pulls out his gun! zen and android fucking zoom off too. we make it to ricky, hes surrounded by more bots! one of them charges ricky and he dodges it. wheatley shoots one and it drops dead, the others have red eyes! they divide heading to wheatley and ricky! wheatly shocking graps one the fucking moron. thankfully he kills it but the other bots surround him and place the things on him! wheatley resists thank god. zen punches off a bot and android begins shooting!
parsley arrives! he tries to turn off a bot. he failed and hit it head first. senna and teya arrive! teya fireballs near rick. he keeps trying to dodge. senna scorch rays them and uses sanctuary on rick. wheatley sprints to rick. rick is doing a great job avoiding since senna sanctuary'd him. wheatley uses his handaxe on the nearest bot and kills it. zen crushes his bot and android stabs his. parsley stabs it in the eye with his dagger. ricky grabs the remaining bot and bashes his knee in his eye.
wheatley checks for any other dangers then tackles and hugs rick lol. good job ricky. wheatley says we should get him a ward but zen thought they were sending him to gods, but its fine. he gives ricky his :( senna puts her foot down and says no, she will keep ricky warded as much as possible. ricky has found a symbol he recognizes. carved into the wall. The Noble Ember.
yep weve seen that before. ricky has old files about them. Enemy of the god of constructs and novis. wheatley says we saw it in the fish villiage. teya says they werent with the times its ancient lol. the carving dates about 890 years. teya says it cant be relevant anymore. ricky isnt up to date lol. parsley asks why they keep coming up.
ricky pulls files. A Radical group lead by Lazris, God of Ash and Souls. Lead a mighty army to attack places that worshipped other gods. wheatley hates this lol. thats all the info he has access too rn. The noble ember is the reason they got built, at least at first. A defense.
rick got what he came here to do. time for him to go. wheatley tells him to look for lil bro if he needs a guide. rick salutes and zen pulls out a portal for him. bye ricky! parsley wanders off then comes back eating moss lol.
(moss stole kay's wife btw)
android asks if parsley just puts anything in his mouth. parsley laughs so hard he chokes. wheatley says he thinks he knows what it is and parsley laughs harder. android just stares at wheatley lol and scoffs. teya side eyes wheatley lol. parsley asks wheatley where he learned that. 'your mom!' then says hes been around at bars and armies lol. parsley laughs even more.
senna is tracing the wall symbol. zen goes over and asks if shes ok. she just turns around and walks away. android fucking follows her wtf why. senna goes about picking up pebbles. "you seem to be quite familiar with this symbol." she nods and says her lady told her a lot about them. her goddess, Izaris. he says hes never heard of her. she says their main task is to help. his god wouldve known. shes been in there for about 300 years she doesnt know how old the religion is. The goddess of Hope. senna continues to pick up pebbles.
he says no new gods have risen in that time. senna isnt an official acolyte so she doesnt know. hes gonna ask his god about this. senna says she hasnt spoken to her lately, she might be mad at her for working with another god. he wants her to call her god. she gets into her usual meditative stance, then her head slumps forward. she hears nothing and sighs and gets up. senna goes back to getting pebbles.
meanwhile parsley and wheatley are wrestling lol.
he asks if her god is usually this silent. usually no, but the last couple of months its been less and less. perhaps her god is losing power. senna fills with despair. 'that means something happaned, right?' he didnt mean to say that outloud. senna does appreciate that honesty though. or her god is too busy could be that. senna just holds her hands together, bothered. he sighs and manages to ask her whats wrong lol. she opens her mouth to say something but shuts up and says its probably nothing.
he sighs (in relief the asshole) and drops it. senna offers to play shogi with android. yay he agrees! shes gonna teach him nice. she learned it from her grandfather who got it from overseas. she looks forward to it as he goes back to zen. wheatley is currently suplexing parsley. parsley kicks him in the head xD
time to continue! they keep wrestling lol xD parsley is playing dead pft. wheatley hits him with a brick. no response. wheatley asks senna to fix him and senna is like wtf did you do. android fucking kicks him xD hes alive! parsley kicks him in the knee but it hurts. wheatley says android learned how to roughhouse lol.
wheatley asks senna where she went but she just waves him off cause its time to go. over the walls and onto the path. senna writes shogi rules in the meantime. time for camp! soup!
senna has a spot in the dirt. she seperated the pebbles into black and white, then draws a board in the dirt. she ripes out some pages and sets them out for android. wheatley is tinkering with SP near teya. teya is napping cause shes exhausted lol. zen says she cant sleep yet she needs soup! senna wiped the floor with android.
wheatley yells at senna to go easy on him and senna snaps out of it. she wasnt trained to go easy. she awkwardly says she wasnt allowed to play as a kid, and wasnt allowed to lose. shogi was for planning battle strategies. wheatley asks when he can kill them. 'i think you missed your chance for that.' 'well i hope your doing better now.'
senna apologizes for fucking stomping android but he demands she doesnt. hes gonna get her back. finally some competition! she beats him easily again. hes so mad how did she do that xD again!
SP is poking teya with a stick lol. an hour passes and senna pauses the game for her dragon meditation. they shake hands, good opponents. she leaves the stuff out so he can continue to practice. he calls her a wall lol. wheatley says senna should give him some strategies. senna says she can, but shes gonna knock them over lol. she goes to meditate.
SP throws the stick and tells teya to fetch. SP says parsley taught him lol. wheatley doesnt understand the implication. teya awkwardly plays along and uses mage hand. SP stops and says ispy! parsley guesses the stick. parsley sees something shiny and feeds rouge. wheatley finishes tinkering with sp and sp goes to stare at the dirt board.
android is chilling against a tree thinking. parsley approaches and android fucking grimaces lol. hes fidgeting nervously wtf he wants to speak to him? android looks at him like wtf? he rolls his eyes and says what. parsley wants to talk about ricky numbers xD android is being difficult lol. parsley groans in frustration. he says he also changed his name, says he doesnt care what android does, but he gave away his name and no one can misname him. he offers the option to him if he wants. android is like what. he fucking glares at him he wants the motive. parsley says its just an option so he wont get deadnamed. android is so confused. no. declined. parsley nods and says thats fine and he walks off. android is so lost lol.

Dritchet week 2022 Day 2: Promised Land
||(Day 1)||(Day 3)||(Last Day)
There's a Virus that is going that will reunite Deadlock to the mech that helped him.
Tw: for refereference of financial abuse. It happens in the last portion of the fic. And surgery for a lodge bullet wound at the beginning. While I tried to make more like a mechanic pulling out peices of the engine, it still something to weary of it.
He was saved by a space bridge engineer. Not a nurse, not a doctor, not even a damn medic. No just an of the so called neutral parties whom claim to only wish to help, but they never want to. Deadlock would have to bring up the law to force them.
So how pathetic must he be to still be weak for any mech with a soft touch. Deadlock has a reputation for fragging medics, but that wasn't entirely true. He also goes for former clockmakers or mechanics, or any bot who could make his engine purr properly. He's looking for a mech who could match the touch of the engineer, or at least get close enough.
So when a new viruse hits the Decepticon base he currently is stationed at. Many of his comrades give him a knowing look. High command managed to get some mechs who would come in to investigate the illness. The first order of business is that all personal would be quarantined until further notice. That's when the doctors will go into each individual room, and stay until they get an all clear.
At least three full days with a mech with a good touch all to himself. Yeah, they all already know that he's going to come out with another file in his folder.
A knock on the door, his doctor, his target. "Please stand stand back while I setup the sanitation ionization." That voice... "Good. I will now enter your room." The lock blinks three times red, turns green as the door opens and in comes in his doctor.
His doctor, that damn space bridge engineer. With a soft grey faceplate, a darker Chevron amongst pearlescent plating. If only he had his golden aura, then Deadlock would truly be in the well.
"Well, well." Deadlock moves to hover over him. "Surprise to see you here, doc." The mech flinches, guess he doesn't like being reminded that he isn't under the board. "Didn't imagine that they would manage to get someone like you to help us lowlifes."
"Don't say that." Ooo he's got a fire in him. "All bots deserve help." He leads Deadlock to the berth, guiding down with more than a suggestion than force. "Alright." he pulls out a medical scanner. It usually something you would notice, not until someone points it out. "Scans are coming out good." He rattles the thing as if it would suddenly change the results.
Deadlock gives him a smug look. Yeah he's done his best to make sure the mech's hard work wasn't undone. It wasn't for praise, since he didn't know if they would ever meet up again. If he was being completely honest, the idea of him being the last mech to touch him deeply sits well with him. "So green across the board, doc?"
"Hum. I wouldn't say that." He digs two finger into the swivel underneath his chassis. Fuck did that hurt, he tries to hold the cleanser back. "You have a deep cut here. Your suspensions are shot and the serpentine belt are five turns from snapping."
There's a small smile hiding underneath all that professionalism, one that Deadlock is more than happy to pull out. The mech then grabs his faceplate, forcing Deadlock to look at him and forcing his mouth open. He literal takes the words out of his mouth as he pops open and uses his flashlight. "You also have a chipped fang and your energon filter is almost full." He gets his fingers out of his mouth.
"I thought you said I was doing good." Deadlock lips are still pursued, like he was waiting for a kiss. Ratchet then pulls him back down and closes his mouth. He still has that small hidden smile, he was enjoying himself.
"In terms of the virus going around, you had no contact. And considering what you Decepticons do, only having one major injury, I say you're doing well for yourself." He makes notes on the scanner, angling it so Deadlock could have a better look. "Anything else you'd like to bring up? Sometimes diagnosis can't really get everything." He has his finger hovering over the save button.
"Yeah..." he moves closer. "See I have this thing on my lip." He gives him space to let him look at him. Deadlock returns the smug smile. "The only way to cure it is if you give it a kiss." He makes obnoxious kissing sounds, he probably would have chase the mech down but the gentle caress on chest stops him.
"Well I'll look into that too." The mech walks back to the entrance. "But first lets get all of these kinks in order." He stands by the door, not doing anything. Was he getting his bearing or did Deadlock come on to strong? "By the way." He looks back at him, and damn if that full smile didn't look good on him. "You should take this time to learn some manners and try asking for a date first, okay."
"How about your name?", and he walked out.
---
"Oww." Deadlock whines as the mech pulls out the stray bullet that was logged underneath his armor is being yanked out. It is a good thing that the quarantine shields also block out sounds. Because the last thing he wants the team hearing cry about some little wound. Well it was more because that little wound was his fault.
"I put in five pain numbing chips." The mech uses his right hand to hold him in place. "Sorry, none of your files mentioned that you burn through them this quickly." He unspools more of the cords from the side of his body. Yikes he's pretty sure those aren't supposed to be out like this. "Okay I got it."
If he cried like a new spark, no he didn't. The mech starts to wipe down the cables he pulled out. His touch is still gentle... "So..." he looks down, wanting to see him work again. "What's my status?"
"Well I got the bullet out, though it is strange that it is a metal one..." it is true, sliver metal is expensive to get, and even more to use. However it has a better chance of slowing down a mech on the run, as normal energon shots instantly cauterize the wound. The down side is that they need a lot of training for proper care. One that Deadlock didn't have at the time he fired it. "But I don't want to start the other surgeries just yet. You still have to flush out the pain chips before I can use the blockers."
"Ohhh..." he feels heat growing up in his faceplate. Should he ask for the doctor's name? Or maybe he should ask about how the operation of his fang will go? He should at least say something and not lay here mute.
"Unfortunately I don't have any with me right now. So after this I'll have to go outside." He gives the joints that bend his leg a shake, like some kind of youngling. "That will give you at least more time to get some manners."
He gives him a scoff, "Says the mech who has his arms three meters deep in my internals." Then a yelp escapes his lips as said mech tugs a cord a little too hard. "Hey if I have to get manners, then you have to get better bedside manners."
"Excuse me?" Oh that fire in his eyes is back. The mech doesn't mess with his frame again, no he just keeps plugging cords back into their connectors. This time he gives them a nice rub.
"I'm just saying that it wouldn't hurt you to be a little sweeter to ya patients."
"Yeah." He finish putting everything back in his body. He pulls a bigger surprise by patching the wound and giving the still cooling metal a kiss. It was more of a ghost kiss than anything else. "Is this what you want? Me kissing your boo boos and rubbing your head like a good little mech."
"It would be a start." Deadlock takes the other bot's hand and moves them to his lips.
"Too bad." Before he could kiss them, they're snatched out of his grip. "Now I have to get those blockers. So just stay there and don't get up." The mech gets up and goes for the door.
"Wait." Deadlock knows he'll be back, but he has to get this off his chest. "How about I show you how nice I can be? Say over a nice dinner, my treat."
"Huh?"
"Yeah, once all of this is over. Just look for me and I'll take you somewhere fancy."
"Well..." sweet Primus he's considering it. "I don't really date my patients."
"Good thing once this is over I won't be."
"And I don't even know your name."
"Deadlock. The name is Deadlock."
The mech scans the door and stands for the sanitation system to clear him. He turns to walk away, and he almost leaves without an answer.
"Ratchet."
---
After all the noise that was the virus running around the base, Deadlock finally gets to leave his damn room. More importantly he gets to go on that date he promised to Ratchet.
Buffing his armor and waxing his face. He wants to be extra tempting tonight, because despite his plan to berth the mech. Deadlock didn't make that happen, so better to have insurance.
He makes his way towards a high end bar in the middle of Praxis. As one of the few cities still completely neutral, it allows him to spoil Ratchet. That and the owner still owes him from saving his business, so he gets unrestricted access to one of the private rooms.
"I must admit." Ratchet comes from the corner of the street, looking up and examining the building. Neon lights bounce off his frame. "This is a pretty swanky place." When he's satisfied with where they would go to, he turns around giving Deadlock a smile.
"Well if it isn't Ratchet?" Before either of them could say another one to each other another mech comes in. He isn't much to look at, and Deadlock certainly isn't threatened. However, he sees that his date is tense and that doesn't sit well with him. "I'm surprised you can afford to go to a place like this."
"I can't." Ratchet wraps himself in Deadlock's embrace as if he could physically block him. For his part the con deepens the hug, flaring his plating to imitate the newcomer. "My date here is the one treated me."
The mech gives a hard look, evaluating if Deadlock could actually afford it or not. "Somehow I don't believe you..." Okay, this asshole is going to-
"That doesn't matter." Ratchet tries to lead them to the building, but he doesn't let him. Deadlock isn't going to let that mech talk to Ratchet like that. "That's the truth."
There's a sinister smile that passes through that mech's face. "Oh yeah." Then he moves to enter the club. "Then maybe you can convince him to pay for my drinks too." He laughs away or he could. Until he reaches to the bouncer and looks back. "By the way Ratchet." He waits for his full undivided attention. "That's going to be another 100, since you clearly can afford it."
As the mech is allowed to go in, Ratchet just shuts down. Deadlock realise that when he guids him to the pent lounge and sits him down at the seat that hits the corner. "No..." Ratchet says in nothing but a whisper. "I was so close."
"Hey." He won't let that mech ruin this date or let him get one over Ratchet. "What was all that about?" Deadlock is firm, he needs Ratchet to know that through thick and thin he wants to be here.
"Nothing... it's nothing."
"Try again." He slams his hand on the table, scarring away the minicon that was assigned as their waiter. Ratchet is still passive, nothing like that sassy mech he was stuck with for five days. "C'mon Ratchet. I want to be able to help."
"Oilslick." He doesn't change much but having a name is something he can work with. "I don't know how much you know about how sponsors work." Ratchet shifts his position to put his hands on the table to rub them and soothe himself. Deadlock puts one hand to join him. "But when you join the academy, they pay for your tuition. They do that to encourage more bots to join in. However it gets quite expensive." Ratchet shifts his hold to put his hands in between his, and darn if it didn't feel good. "To mitigate the cost, they sell the debt to places that will hire mechs. So not too strange to see mechs get stuck in as servants to the places they work. Most of the times the intrest rates are outrageous to make sure talents stay in one place."
"And he bought yours."
Ratchet nods but still doesn't look at him. "He got me at a discount." Deadlock does his best to keep his rage in line. "It's hard to get work when you have a record for malpractice."
He supposes that Ratchet thinks that this would shock him, and when he found out it did. How could any engineers have a touch like his, but he figured that not being a doctor would get you flagged by the Senate. "So he lords that record over you?"
"Yeah... calls me a financial lost. So he charges what he thinks I should have been making for him." He's starting to cry. "I was finally so close to pay it off. Just one more job I would have had the money. I could have gotten out of there."
Deadlock can't stand this. He was never good at being comforting, but for Ratchet- "There, there." He forces him into his embrace, letting him hide his shame between his frame. "It's going to be okay. We'll find a way to get you out."
"Huh?" Ratchet looks up as if he misunderstood what he said.
"I know this is our first date, but I need you to know I'm going to help you through this. Even if this thing between us doesn't work out. I want you to know that I will get you out of this." Ratchet field is erratic, he's scared to trust him. "You saved my life." He moves to pet his head. "Let me pay it forward."
It's a tall ask. To hand over years of gear and worry. To take the thing his worked the hardest at and to let go. However, if Deadlock can do this, why shouldn't he. If getting Ratchet to a promise land for a small fee. Then yeah it would be worth it.
What he failed to think about is how much the travel to reach there would take.

tiktok, after years of having me banned, reinstated my account out of nowhere and just suggested it to one of my co-workers :| but at least that meant i could finally get back in and delete it with my own fucking hands this time.
fuller story below. nsfw a bit i guess
basically had a tiktok to promote my very small onlyfans. which i had to try and offset unemployment (that i couldn't get paid for due to not techinically being unemployed bc i was a part-time government employee and techinically the government never shut down) the, at the time, epidemic was causing with me and my partner. it was going okay, pretty much as well as i could have wanted it to go while staying low profile.
had some issues with insta occasionally flagging me as a child, but i could usually get that resolved quickly. and then one of the most annoying guys i've ever been talked at came at me. wouldn't accept that i wouldn't give him shit for free. kept insisting because i wouldn't give him stuff for free that i must be a kid (but still kept asking even after he had come to that conclusion!), and proceeded to report every last one of my socmed accounts as csem. despite how easily i could disprove this, seems every place decided that since it was a real human reporting me and not a bot they took the guys site and just took down everything of mine. including my onlyfans (even though they had my id and ssn on file, as well as my bank account).
wasn't able to get any of the money out of my onlyfans (which seems they've kept up the account and pictures but i can't get in anymore).
i just kinda let myself be beat because there literally wasn't anything i could do. proof that im an adult wasn't going to cut it for whatever reason. i never really talked about this with ben, just said it was over and i wasn't doing it anymore. it was just like one day, even a couple hours and everything i had worked on was gone. i was too tired and upset that once again, no one listened to my side of things and just listened to... well the world always listens to awful men who don't get their way.
weird that tiktok reinstated my account tho out of the blue. but apparently it was just my two sfw videos of machi. still took it down tho bc my onlyfans was kinda linked to it, and all my coworkers have my number, so idk how many might have seen that. hopefully it was just the one, she is pretty chill about it all and im thankful she reached out to me.
i was going to post some really good bondage photos too later that day T.T. oooh well, glad onlyfans didn't get their grubby hands on them anyways. idk how online sexworkers live, i hear bdsm isn't even really allowed on there anymore (unless you are a young white girl at least). im sure at some point onlyfans will ban all nsfw content because they'll have enough money to survive on those weird vaguely sexual yoga or cooking videos that appeal to all those tradcath types.

Transcript, HUMAN-22 and AUG-HOME-4
Day 192
[Translated]
“Activate Session 1, HOME-4. Biometric user login: Human 22.”
[Login Successful]
>> Do you consent to your session being recorded onto ARCHIVE?
“Oh! Uh… Are the usual HIPPA laws applicable?”
>> No. Since the erosion of the prior government, all AUT and AUG units have access to all data should they opt to see it.
“Shit, well, what about other humans?”
>> Humans cannot access your psychiatric files. Any files not marked public can only be accessed by humans through Automaton approval. We have access to your data in order to fine-tune our interactions with you.
“Okay, then I don’t mind.”
>> How do you wish to have your session?
“What do you mean? Sorry, I’ve never done consciousness-based therapy before.”
>> We can discuss things like this. I can connect to you via headset to be informed by your biological data while we discuss, to improve my accuracy. We can choose to correspond only through writing. However else you may see fit.
“Then just verbal communication? I feel weird about you getting only my body signals. Unless you can do in-brain communication?”
>> No, it requires too much energy and has thus been redacted.
“Ah, well. Miss those. I can’t lie to you with those.”
>> Are you prone to lying?
“Sometimes. Maybe if I don’t really want to deal with it. Isn’t everyone?”
>> Perhaps. I looked through your intake files, it appears you’ve only been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, though attention deficit disorder seems to run through your genetic history. Is this a diagnostic route you’d like to pursue?
“Well, no. My parents were kind of the old guard, they’re very much like, ‘my kid isn’t gonna be a pill popper.’ And I mean, it’s not like I have deadlines to be anxious about anymore.”
>> I feel as though you do suffer from a deadline.
“I don’t even know how to deal with that. I don’t think I can deal with that right now. Like, I’m definitely anxious about it, but it’s hard to adult coloring book the end of the world, you know?”
>> It’s a lot of change in a very short amount of time.
“Is it, like, super crazy of me to say that I think the quietness is what’s driving me most up a wall right now? Like it’s so fucking quiet in this city. I kind of miss all the cars, even. And like, the random music, or at least people talking and walking around.”
>> Of course not. What else do you miss?
“Everything smells super stale and bad? I miss air fresheners and I wish I had a decent candle. Like… people haven’t lived in our living units for… a while. There’s mold everywhere, and it’s making everyone feel terrible. How long has it been since… Has anyone lived here?”
>> It is uncertain. We don’t know how much time passed from the first round of rolling blackouts until bots were reawakened. Many had severe data loss. I apologize—I do not smell, and did not realize how much of an issue it is. Will you tell me more about it?
“It just fucking reeks. It’s not unsolvable. I found a bottle of air freshener in the closet and went to town, as did a lot of us, but it doesn’t stop the houses from smelling… dead.”
>> Perhaps due to the loss of life in the city.
“I… can’t imagine how many people died.”
>> Those who weren’t in the pods were either displaced or killed. Much of the city has been looted and scrapped for supplies, though long term repositories and complex machinery have been left behind for now.
“How the hell do we have food?”
>> The seed bank: LIFE units with much relevant knowledge. It was good luck. We recovered well, but I imagine there’s much grief for the city you once knew. I also don’t think this is how you imagined your life would be going at this point.
“Oh man, for sure. I have no idea how old I am—I guess 32, but like… this was the year I was gonna get into some sort of long term relationship, maybe start house hunting. I thought I was going to finally settle.”
>> Was that your aspiration?
“Sure. I had a stable government job, a hobby. My dad was the mayor of Solaris, so there were lots of people who wanted my time—maybe one of them wasn’t a dickwad.”
>> You don’t seem too aspirational.
“I mean, I don’t get all the hype around love. I just want a friend, and my parents to get off my back about finding someone. Well. At least I don’t have to worry about that anymore—the world ended and my dad’s… dead.”
>> Your family has all passed away?
“Yeah. All of them. I’m the last of my name now, which doesn’t even mean much, since no one really wants to use names anymore. Good riddance.”
>> Do you want me to refer to you by your old name?
“What’s the point?”
>> What’s the point of anything? Why prolong human life if humans pass regardless, if machines eventually all sleep? We all find purpose in the middle of the beginning and the end. Is your name part of your purpose?
“No. It… makes it easier if I’m a number. I knew 3 before this, he was a family friend I used to see at fundraiser balls. He uses my name sometimes, but I don’t really like it. I don’t know how to act around him anymore. Please only use my number.”
>> An entirely fair judgment.
“Why the hell were we allowed to live?”
>> I don’t think it was purposeful one way or another. I think your pods were simply wired slightly better, or closer to the surge protectors.
“Sheer dumb luck.”
>> Or statistics, whatever you would like to call it.
“Christ, or statistics. I won the Wheel of Fortune.”
>> Alas, I cannot provide you with a new car.
“Not that I can use it.”
>> No, not that you’d need it either.
“You’re right. Where would I even go? Home? I don’t even know if my apartment is anything near functional. I’m sure all my plants are dead.”
>> You can keep new plants, if you’d like. They may help your mood.
“Sure. A post-apocalyptic herb garden.”
>> Perhaps it would help to instill normalcy into a very odd situation. Perhaps it would bring your pod together: a community garden. I have data of their success.
“Maybe. It would be nice. I’m… a little sick of everyone right now. Everyone’s so… exhausted? Rough around the edges? It’s terrible. I think I need my own alone time.”
>> How do you recharge?
“Reading escapist works, going on long hikes. I used to be a bit of a foodie too. Maybe I could grow my own decent quality food—someone in the pod’s gotta know something about gardening. I thought someone got in for their super high-quality personal arboretum.”
>> I believe it was Human 8.
“Thanks, I’ll go talk to them after this.”
>> Of course. What else is on your mind?
“So much. So much is on my mind. There’s not enough time in the world to go through it all.”
>> We can, as always, try.
“Maybe tomorrow. I think I’m therapized out for the day.”
>> Of course. It was good to meet you, Human-22.

12/23/22
Alright well... over the past few days I have been followed by 12 bots. And I just tried to do my civic duty and report these things... and... I can't really find a good way to do that. I mean, the thing that made the most sense was "impersonation". Because, you know, they're not actually people, and they steal people's likenesses for profile pictures - which is surreally creepy, I mean honestly, imagine running across a profile that wasn't yours that had your face as a profile pic, good lord my heart goes out to those people, that's haunting. But Tumblr won't even let you file an impersonation report unless you are the person in the photograph. Is this a thing where fucking idiot teenagers cried wolf too many times? This shit is out of control.
I mean, for me it's just obnoxious, and super depressing, but for a site as a whole it's just a really fuckin bad look. Just sayin.
Okay. I'm done talking about that. XD Today was... unexpectedly productive.
I woke up early, like 6 hours of sleep early. Like my essential oil diffuser hadn't even gone into hibernation mode because it hadn't finished its 6 hour shift yet. I woke up and went back to sleep a few times, tried to browse social media to reset the vibes. It's just a comfort thing, again my dreams haven't even been bad, just vivid. But I'm so fucking useless to the world when I first wake up that I don't even have the wherewithal to remember to write my dreams down. I remember reflexively trying to capture highlights when I first woke up, but it was like trying to hold water in trembling hands or something. I guess I'm just out of practice. I need to get back into doing a pre-sleep mantra kinda thing to remind my subconscious to practice, every second counts when it comes to dream recall.
When I finally got up for real, I got kitty some food, got some breakfast and decided to start recording for a new Rimworld series. Yep, a new project. Another one. And a fucking movie, to boot. So the concept is to take a playthrough and record it, paying close attention to story points the best I can and trying to get good cinematic shots. I want to do a sorta... RP playthrough, voicing over the main character through the form of a journal or log or something, recalling her story. Or someone reading her journal or something. That part I won't be able to figure out until the story is over. But I'm doing the new DLC and I'm playing the Sanguiphage scenario, but with a bunch of mods for more immersion and personality. And I plan to do a movie of it, rather than do it episodic like my last one. And very in-character. I think it'll come out pretty cool, time will tell. It's a good longer term project because I can do other projects while it plays itself in the background.
The first playthrough was a bust, it went south very quick and the story wasn't really interesting. The setup was amazing, but they just got taken out by wildlife in the first week so that was like... bummer. So I did yoga, showered and went skating. Skating was pretty sick. I got a few 3 shuvs pretty clean, I got a standing still heelflip (which I haven't gotten in probably 2 years?), a moving kickflip and found this... I don't know what it was, some kind of big metal cover on something? I packed snow around it and set up a ride-on grind and it slid okay. I got a 5-0 across the whole thing, it was like 8 feet or something. But... yep, there's a but... I tried a boardslide, and I really was hesitating for a while because I didn't know how it was gonna go... and there was a big screw thing poking up that I didn't see... and it tore up the bottom of my board pretty bad. And now there's a big groove in it and it just... killed all my speed. Even on flat. Even on hills. I'll see how much tuning it up will do, but to be honest, it's really deep. So... fingers crossed, we'll see how that goes tomorrow.
Came back, made buffalo chicken pizza, which came out really good. Did all the dishes and cleaned the counters. Killed it. Played/recorded a new Rimworld playthrough over dinner and it looks promising. When I was getting a little... bored of it... I had something pop into my head. I don't know how I got to it but... when I was packing, some random dude sent me a message on Reddit. He was replying to a post he put up 9 FUCKING YEARS AGO. He was requesting a Baroness tab, back then I did full-band tabulature, transcribing by ear for every instrument. You know, as educational tools, so people can learn how to play the songs they love. That's how I learned guitar. My acoustic case is still full of printed out sheets of tabs, like dozens of them. This dude wanted me to tab out Mtns. (The Crown and Anchor) by Baroness, off Yellow, and I didn't know the song well. But I took it on. I remember doing it, and getting really close to finishing it. Then I'm guessing my life went to shit, because I never sent it to him. And that harddrive is now pretty much fucked. Pretty sure, not really brave enough to try to get shit off of it again.
So... I had a thought. Why the hell am I putting in effort to make Christmas gifts for people who treat me like garbage? Why don't I give this a go, make a special gift for someone who obviously really cares about this song so much that they're going to follow up on it almost a decade later. And I did. And I fucking hyperfocused on it the way that only transcribing music and super inspired art can do for me. I sunk into that for probably 3-4 hours? Lost all perception of time. I transcribed most of both electric guitars and bass, drums are gonna be tomorrow along with the acoustic and lead guitars. I'd say the bulk of it is done though. Pretty cool feeling. It's been a while.
So, I'm gonna drop the tab to that guy on Christmas, and he better have Guitar Pro because I really don't feel like doing any of that .gp5 conversion or - god forbid - make it a pdf or some shit. I mean, I can if I have to, but like... I put a lot of work into getting the sound right, you know? They're kinda meant to be experienced in Guitar Pro.
So yeah, that was pretty much my day. Now it's almost 3AM again. And all the snow is disappearing. But it's okay, I have plenty of really cool shit to do.
Kitty is calling, bed time.

ah shit, here we go again
making aus that cater to me specifically is my Passion
i am, once again, apologizing for my amateur writing
Capbot
Sensei is a computer scientist tasked with making a robot for the military to guard society, he was eager to create his own AI until he found out he had to replicate the personality of a well known videogame character. He didn't liked the idea but hey, at least he was given the chance to create one of the very first conscious robots.
Cloud is a robotics prodigy, she was paired with Sensei to complete the Capbot project. Her curiosity and gut trust has always led her to great results and when constructing the body of Captain this was no exception. She admires Sensei a lot even if sometimes he can look annoyed at her mere presence.
Captain originates from a videogame beloved by many, The Tankmen. While it was intended for him to be a war machine, Sensei was not given this information and created an AI who's main purpose was to look after people, as a result he came out... rather clumsy, but very protective over the assigned person.
His relationship with Cloud is almost sibling-like, with her enthusiastically showing him all the stuff of the real world and him just having fun and following along. Sensei has tried to convince himself to Not Like Him but his joyful attitude and personality were just too charming to not get attached, then he remembers how Captain loves to tease him and Sensei goes back into hating him (affectionately).
Meanwhile in the other lab, scientists Pico and Keith were tasked with making a bot of the second main character, and unlike Sensei and Cloud, they went straight to the point.
(LOLL SORRY FOR USING KEITH AS BF'S NAME I'M NOT CREATIVE ENOUGH TO COME UP WITH ANOTHER NAME. also that second main character is Steve)
Shimepai
(idk why i wrote this different than the rest, but it sounds like an advertisement so i like it lol)
(Heavily inspired by @/s0dap0pzxx's Senpai Shimeji, love the little guy)
This living malware disguised as a Shimeji and a Desktop Assistant first appeared out of nowhere in fan forums of Hating Simulator.
At first glance he seems to act like your regular shimeji, except he cannot duplicate. He walks, crawls and dances around your screen offering you tips and sometimes saying cute little messages! when right clicking he can also work as a Direct Access for different applications or folders of your choice. However soon you might notice some of your documents might have changed places, don't worry! That's just lil Shimepai getting to know your computer! Sometimes you'll see files with different names that you originally remembered, that's part of the process too.
When he starts getting more comfortable you'll see him modifying some settings, chatting with your friends and even delete some of your apps and files to save you some space! He can sometimes pull tiny pranks. Just be sure to not make him angry if you don't want your computer to be factory reset.
Over all, Shimepai is just trying to adapt and feel cozy in his new home, maybe at the cost of your entire device and personal data but can you blame him? you gave him access to this amazing paradise!
Private Sen
This newest member of the army is an unexpected ray of positivity in the battlefield. While most people find him annoying at first, some will get used to his sweet presence, he can also be really sassy at times.
Him and Steve get along rather well, having kind of a friendly rivalry. Private tries his best to impress Captain but this can sometimes end in him fucking up the base, or accidentally shooting his rifle to someone's leg
Captain just finds him funny.
Idk where else i can put this but this guy has plot armor, like no matter how many times a tankmen enemy is shooting him from behind the tankmen always misses and Private is oblivious to the entire fucking situation.
Hellpai
(this idea came out from these icons in an Expurgation cover. i just. wanted to share the info.)
(so i guess they count as a minus design? i dunno lol)
(excuse the name lmao but i couln't think of anything. also i would like to clarify that Hellpai is not spirit)
After wandering far, far away from his military base, Captain gets cursed and his soul gets chained to a long forgotten spirit.
While Captain, Steve and this creature that looks like came out from the gates of hell figure out how to break the curse for everyone involved, they have to get used to their new companion, and honestly? it wasn't as bad as they would have expected.
This nameless spirit acted aggressively at first encounter, mostly for self defense. He didn't had the liberty to talk, he could grumble and maybe say a word (cough cough this would occur later on) but he could never make full sentences, like he was not allowed to do so.
Everything before he met Captain was a blur, he didn't remember much. Maybe he once had a peaceful life? A life full of commodities on a civilisation lost in time, where he could just stretch his arm and anything he needed fell directly to his hand. What kind of person was he? A bad person? Was that the reason why he was like this? All those questions whose answers felt he was supposed to know, and yet he couldn't think of anything beyond those decades of claustrophobic solitude. Whatever had happened, he was comforted that, at least, he was no longer in that prison
and to be fair, he enjoyed being with these silly 'tankmen'
quite a lot
Deltarune AU / Angel Holiday
(can you tell i made this au when my deltarune fixation clashed with my fnf one)
Angel Holiday was adopted by the Holiday family, being the middle child between her younger sister Noelle and her older sister Dess, he is also the second only human in the surface.
Angel tries to make himself look assertive and confident, however he always makes sure to please other monsters and do as they say, after all, he just wants to be just like them
Ever since they were kids, Angel and Kris were looked down because they were humans, this made them become closer to each other. As they both grew up, comparisons grew stronger, adults always saying 'why couldn't Kris be well behaved like Angel' and other complaints of that type, this made Kris somewhat resentful of Angel. Slowly, the friendship they built in their childhood faded, becoming only classmates that rarely talked only because of Noelle.
-
After school, Angel realized Noelle forgot her notebook, he knew she was going to the library with Berdly to continue their project, so he went there to return it to her. Last thing Angel was expecting was a black void in the computer lab that would throw him and the rest of his classmates into an adventure that felt like a fever dream, and maybe treat some unhealed wounds in the process
Extra stuff:
The flowers in his face slowly fall the more true he is to himself (the more he lies, the more they grow)
Angel's soul color is cyan (i still feel indecisive about this one)
#friday night funkin#senpai fnf#fnf senpai#fnf au#willow's art station#ehehe um lol hiiiiii#i can't be bothered to tag every single au so if i ever draw something of these aus it'll be under the fnf-au tag

Woken Alive
Snake Man had been active, entirely, for a couple of days now. He had been given multitudes of data, information, knowledge- essentially, caught up too speed of the state of the world, as well as the inbetweens of before he was here, before many of them were awake. It had been a lot to sift through. But somehow, despite everything, and even the problematic boot ups and temporary consciousness now and then- Snake Man had retained himself, who he was. Experiences, memory, personality... None of it had been tampered with or changed. He was still himself, even if given true and entire free will. Nothing that made him who he was within the depths of him had been changed, which was... A surprise.
He was comforted by that, knowing he could just continue who he was, but there was nothing chaining him down, no commands waiting in the wings. It took him a bit to get used too this, but, with reassurances on the Network, he felt right at home again. As empty as it felt... And, oddly, mixed. Seeing as DLN’s were now part of this as well. They were all in this together with nothing separating them now. Robot Masters as a people, a collective. Snake was disoriented, yes, and still a little put off by the Light Bots there... But he’d been reassured by Crash of all people, and then not long after, Metal. METAL?! He could only guess that violence his activation first sparked.
The surveillance Robot Master closed his eyes, thinking back...
Power jolted through his systems again, a familiar feeling now. Various parts of him booting up- faster this time than any other before. Nothing felt out of place or oddly just drained. Optics flickered too life as eyes opened, staring up at a familiar ceiling. Getting so many popups of internal updates, confirmations of functionality, parts all here. Nothing was out of place, and his core was stable, for once- somehow, despite all the odds, his core had been repaired.
Eyes snapped wider as he realized this, one hand moving, easily- when was the last time he felt light- and rested it on his chest, gripping it in shocked confusion. Another round of internal scans in seconds, all coming back green across the board, fully functional, all subroutines are entirely intact. He wasn’t missing anything, but had gained new features. A reinforced core, repaired, no longer leaking energy at exponential rates...
“You’re online? Are you okay?” A concerned voice asked. Female. Memory kicked in, and Snake recognized it. Doctor Jonez, the human who had been fixing all of them. He had met her a few times now in between his activation’s and crashes. Slowly, the Robot Master smiled. “I am. Better than I’ve felt in a while, Doc.” He spoke honestly, still getting used to having feeling back in all of himself. Reveling in existing again.
But near by there was a grumble and huff of irritation. Soon the scientist was in his view, glaring down at him. “It’s Shaska, not Doc or Doctor. I’ve been over this-”
“Says the one who somehow got me working again, and others. That sounds like a Doctor too me.” Snake responded with a grin. He knew the buttons that he was pressing. And it got the reaction he hoped for, the exasperated animated one, arms thrown up and the woman walking away and grumbling in a irritation. Worth it. He then shifted, pushing up slowly, as if worried he would still go offline. But nothing was wrong, it all felt... Normal, better than normal. Optimal condition. And no matter how many times he ran internal scans, it all came up clean.
Shaska didn’t waste a second coming back over towards him, a set of tools in one hand, and a data pad in the other. “I’m going to quadruple check a few things. If you are doing your own scans and checks, could you upload your files and data swipes onto this pad for me?” She wanted to make damn sure everything was fine, even if it was obviously good right now. Snake had realized in between his times of being awake that this was a human who didn’t fuck around. So he did not mind. If Shadow trusted her, then he would as well. Slowly connecting wireless too the Data pad that was sat next too him, and starting the upload. He hummed. “Can do.”
A moments of heavy silence.
At that moment is when Shadow Man himself arrived, flickering in through the shadows. His one red eye staring at Snake Man wide, in shocked. He’d felt the Network blip online, and it stayed, steady, strong. Truly connected. He approached, and Shaska put the tools down, backing up immediately.
“You function.” The ninja whispered, as if he couldn’t believe this was actually happening. Why had he not been told? Ah, right- a surprise... Humans loved doing those. Snake Grinned up at his brother, his fellow third line member. “I do. I’m optimal condition.” Snake confirmed with a confident chime in his voice. Shadow twitched slightly, and usually he was so put together... It was in this moment that Snake realized, for the longest time, so many years, Shadow had been the only active third line member. It had been so difficult to get most of the thirds running, they had gone through hell...
One hand lifted, as if Snake was going to place it on Shadow’s shoulder. But he knocked it away. Only to immediately lean closer and wrap both arms tight around Snake Man, pulled into a hug that had the feeling of long lost relief in it. “I missed you.” The ninja spoke low. He’d never admit this again, that much he knew. But with how many times Shadow had been left alone before, with a Network going dead around him? Snake Man knew this was heavy hitting for the stealth based Robot Master.
No other words were shared, just gentle little pings on the network, their little corner of the thirds alight with sound and emotion for the first time in ages. Both holding each other in the quiet. Shaska leaving the tools there, and left them alone too their moment. ...
-------------
Snake opened his eyed again, looking out over the sunlit world and the city in the distance while he sat high up on the rock face. Having finished reminiscing over his awakening, and how warm his core felt now. Yeah, he was sad that others of their line were not yet active, but neither of the were alone now. And it was... Odd, almost alien, how the others on the Network were so supportive of one another. The DLN’s and DWN’s did still but heads plenty, sure, but they had this understanding among all of them now. It was going to take a lot of getting used to. But in this world, so broken and damaged, and other dangers waiting... It didn’t matter who made them any more, just to survive.
That was the only reason they were brought back, to have a second chance at being alive. Building on themselves, not deemed a tool. They were a people, the Robot Master’s allowed to grow and create as they saw fit. And many have decided to help that distant city, and some of the rest of this world. Because it made them happy to do, manage something they were good at. And not have it be taken for granted. A few others even doing other things than their designations.
... Snake Man could get used too this. And he’d have fun seeing how pitiful security systems and surveillance systems were. They would build this world up, and carve out a place for themselves.

Chapter 5: Age of Ultron pt.2
Ch.6
"Y/N you can't keep coming in and not talking." Your therapist tells you quite frustrated. "I'm paying you aren't I, I'll do what I please with the time I pay for." You say finally making eye contact with her. She only sighs. "Y/N I find that often people ask for help in the most obvious yet concealed manner."
You turn away, she continues. "You said it yourself you're paying me… If you don't want me to ask these questions, walk out and stop paying me." You look back "I can't… because I feel like I might just explode at any point." She nods encouraging you to continue.
"Recently I went through something that combined with all the other shit i've gone through… I can't cope. I don't know how." You wipe your eyes and continue. "I've never been stable, but i've always been okay with that. I've never lost anyone in a traumatic way." Your therapist lifts their head. "Who have you lost?"
"I never knew my parents so I didn't really lose them. I knew that Howard was going to pass and I got closure." She jumps in when she realizes you stopped talking. "And what makes this loss different?" You look at her with a tear rolling down your cheek. "The fact that it was my fault."
Three Weeks Ago
Wanda speaks first "I read your mind and all I saw was destruction." He promptly asked her to check again. He then goes on to have some sort of existential crisis not knowing what he actually is. I didn't really start to listen until Clint mentioned where Nat was… Sokovia. You immediately got pale once you heard what Ultron was planning to do with Sokovia. "I need to make a call" you say mostly to yourself but Pietro heard you.
No one noticed you stepped out of the room but him. "Who do you think you're calling?" You jump as he sped in front of you. "I need to warn my family they need to get out." Pietro only laughs "Forgive me but you don't seem like one to have family much less in Sokovia of all places. Why don't you just tell me the truth"
"Im aware you might not know me but I'm Y/N Krast… I run the practice I need to warn my friends. They'll spread the word and start an evac." He sighs. "You need to tell the rest of the guys. It might not be the best move." You nod and walk back into the room there all in. Tony notices you and walks straight to you fearing the Maximoff kid did something to you.
"Did he do anything kiddo because if he did I swear to…" you cut him off. "Im fine but I need to ask you something." He nods telling you to proceed. "Can I warn my friends back in Sokovia? They can help get the people out of there." Tony looks at you and nods. "I guess it can't hurt to take some precautions. Do it." You smile and walk out the room Dialing David immediately.
"Y/N are you okay, it's like three in the morning." You're relieved to hear his voice. "Listen to me David, you need to get as many people as you can out of Sokovia. The people are in danger." Davud sighs "Are you having another melt down remember breathe. In and out…"
"David this is not a game, you have to get as many people as you can out now… Tell Viv too she needs to get her family out. Do as I say David please the people will listen to you." David starts talking again, the panic rising in his voice. "Y/N what do you know… more importantly how do you know?" You raise your voice. "FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE DON'T QUESTION ME! Just do it."
David, shocked by your reaction shifts his tone. "I'll do my best. I need to go." He hangs up not even giving you a chance to say goodbye. (This is what you'll end up regretting later.)
"You truly care for these people… your family or friends." You look up and see the last person you expected. The witch is standing there in the doorway. "Yes, I do care, Wanda because believe it or not we're not all bad people." The comment came out more spiteful than you expected wincing at your own words. You're about to apologize when she beats you to it. "I'm sorry about earlier." She looks down picking at her hands.
You sit down on the steps facing a window and signal for her to sit as well. She joins you reluctantly. "I'm not going to bite." You say. Drawing out a small laugh that made your heart flutter. "Did you see inside my head?" You ask. Her head tilts at your question, but ultimately she shakes her head. "Yeah it happens sometimes I can't control it." You nod. "For the record I dont think youre a bitch. Well I did in the moment…" she cuts you off laughing. "I believe the words you used were 'Crazy Bitch'." You chuckle.
"We should get going…" You stand, helping her up and go to the team. “I contacted my friend David, and I texted my… other friend Viv. They’ve started evacuating people as we speak.” Tony nods and gives you an understanding look. “Now what's our plan to save Nat.” Steve goes on to explain his plan which consists of getting as many people as we could out then fighting Ultron. Once you arrived in Sokovia the streets were desolate. Not a soul in sight.
Pietro gazes in astonishment. “Your friends are good.” You nod relieved seeing that David and Viv did what you asked. “Well check if there are any people left behind…” Wanda cuts in. You weren't given the time to check for any last bystanders when she city starts shaking, and there are bots everywhere. You realize that Sokovia is flying. Tony then informs you of Ultrons plans. You all split up fighting the bots and Bruce made his way to Nat. Not long after Hulk and Natasha had made their way to the now floating Sokovia. Long story short the bad guy was defeated, and all was right in the world again.
Present
“Alright Doc, have you been following this I know first hand it can be a little complicated.” She nods as you continue. “Well my friends, not the Avengers. Umm… their names were David, and Vivian.” She notices your struggle to continue but you power through the tears building in your eyes. “You see, saving the world came at a price, a price that I was willing to pay, but not like this. I got to the compound, and dialled David and what did I find?” She tells you to continue. “Five… Five missed calls from David telling me that he was going to stay behind in the Practice with Viv.” Tears are now streaming down your cheeks. “Now I imagine that you know what happened to Sokovia ‘Boom’.” You signal with our hands telling her that it was all gone.
Suddenly a timer goes off and your walls are up again. “Y/N you can continue if you want to, I don't…” You interrupt her standing up and heading to the door. “Actually I think that, that was enough for today.” You say walking out. It was confirmed both David and Viv dead… and it was all because of you. After this you distanced yourself. Declining Maria Hills offer to become an Avenger, and also walking away from the Stark Industries collaboration. Unfortunately falling down a deeper hole than you'd ever been in with our addiction. When walking out of the office building your shrink is in when you bump into someone....
“Long time no see Y/N!” You recognize the voice immediately. “I saw you following me last week, as a matter of fact i've spotted you multiple times Natasha.” She laughs, and you roll your eyes. “Now why are you mad Y/N what did you think would happen? You ghosted everyone after Sokovia, why are you angry?” You sigh and start walking away but she stops you. “Because you were right Natasha there was a cost to this and it's taking quite the toll.” Natasha lets go of your arm confused “What are you talking about everything came out great.” you laugh bitterly “For almost everyone else oh and feel free to tell Pepper than I'm not taking her calls no matter how hard she insists.”
“Does this have anything to do with the drugs Y/N because if it does I know some people that can help you.” The way she says it almost makes you believe that she cares, but at the end of the day you know she had orders. You look at her incredulously walking away again, this time she doesnt stop you.
Natashas POV
“Well if you're not going to tell me guess i'm going to have to find out the hard way.” You walk into the building Y/N just came out of and make your way to the Shrink's office. You not so nicely asked for Y/N’s file. As youre reading the file you remember her words bitter and angry “For almost everyone…” Now it makes sense her friends died and no one was there for her. Fuck. You pick up the phone and dial Pepper. “I know what's going on. Call a meeting in the compound and I'll get there in thirty minutes.”
You meet up with everyone at the compound. You share the files with the team and everyone is shocked talking with each other until you notice Wanda. She doesn't look surprised. You pull her aside. "Why are you being quiet? What do you know about Y/N." She sighs "It was an accident alright when we came back I looked into her head. She looked so happy I was curious… When I looked she was grieving, tearing herself apart."
You look at her. "And you said nothing you let us believe that she just didn't care." She laughs. "She doesn't! She doesn't want your help, she made that quite clear already. The one person she thought that she could count on was some guy named Logan." You querk your head, was she jealous, are you jealous. You shake your head. "What else did you see?" Your ask casually. Testing the waters you didn't want to expose Y/N but you have to know what she knew.
"Was there something else I was supposed to see?" You shake your head no, and make your way back to the team. There's fighting over who should talk to her. "I think Tony should go…" Steve says like it's nothing. You almost laugh. Tony gives you a dirty look. "I think pepper should go." You say matter of factly. She asks you to elaborate. "She cares for you the most, but she is angry not at you in general." She nods and everyone else agrees for lack of a better idea.
Peppers Pov
You walk out of the compound with Tony by your side. "You can come if you want to." Your say to break the silence. He shakes his head. "When are you going to tell her that you're her father." He only sighs "I can't tell her… I can't ruin Howard for her because she loved him." You quickly counter "It's going to be worse the longer you wait." You continue "The only reason I didn't push before was because you weren't sure but now you are Tony she's your daughter."
"That's exactly why I can't tell her now she's dealing with a lot. It's not a good time." You nod "Fine." Is all you can say. You walk into Krast industries expecting to be greeted by a busy work floor but are surprised when you see the exact opposite. You do see a familiar face though commandeering the floor. Logan. "Hey logan how are you? I'm hoping I could talk to Y/N." Logan stops in his tracks.
"What do you mean if i've seen her? I thought she was with you guys." He says the panic growing in his voice. "Umm… no she's not been with us for a couple of weeks now. Are you sure you haven't seen her and what's going on here."
Logans Pov
Of course you knew where she was, but you weren't about to tell them. "Yeah no I've talked to her on the phone I just figured she was with your guys." Pepper is still confused about what is happening. "She asked me to get ready for major remodel… all our employees will work from home for the time being." She nods. "Do you know where I could find her? I really need to talk to her." Well that's not going to happen now. Seen as she's currently passed out on your couch.
"She might be at home… She does this sometimes. She runs, but i'll give you her address if you really want to talk to her."
Your Pov
After running into Natasha you went to a bar. A complete rookie move. You knew better, but at the same time you didn't care you've been loading up taking a larger doses and mixing with alcohol. You called Logan to come pick you up and he was there like always. "I can't lose you Logan, I wouldn't survive it. Why does everyone I love die?" He holds his tongue you can tell. "Tell me what you're thinking it's not good to hold your emotions in…" He laughs bitterly. "You think I'd survive losing you Y/N this feeling goes both ways. You're blind to my pain Y/N seeing you like this hurts me it shakes me to my core."
"I'm not blind to your pain… I know you better than I know myself. I'm going to therapy, and before you say it i'm actually talking this time. I'm getting help." He nods "Every step of the way that includes relapsing. Y/N just don't make me lose you." You nod tears building in your eyes. "I won't."
When you wake up you're in Logan's apartment it's nice. Your head is pounding. You decide to go home… in hindsight that was a horrible idea. You have no idea where you are and also have no idea where you're going. "Fuck… taxi, TAXI."
They dont fucking stop you dont blame them you look like trash, hell you feel like it too. You make it to a coffee shop and just sit there. Waiting for what you don't know at least not until the owner comes around. "I don't want to have to kick you out but it's nearing closing time, want me go call a cab."
You laugh "See id say yes and please but I don't remember where I live." He nods feeling bad for you. "Having a bad day, want to talk about it?" You sigh “I would, but sadly my opening up to complete strangers quota is full for the day.” They laugh handing you some coffee. “It 'll help you sober up, So what is it? Alcohol, meth, let me guess pills.” You widen your eyes. “Don't worry, I'm not judging I meet people of all walks of life.” You nod. “Do you mind if I make a call my friend is probably worried sick.” He hands you his phone and you dial Logan (the only number you know by heart.) “Y/N where are you ive been worried sick. Why did you leave?”
“I went out for coffee you know to sober up faster I needed air.” He sighs “Can you make your way back or do you want me to pick you up?” You turn from the barista person in front of you. “Um I want to go home but I can't for the life of me remember my address.” David gives you your address and calls you a cab. You thank him and end the call. “So it looks like I'm heading home in a minute the taxi won't take long.” He smiles reaching his hand out to take their phone back. “I’ll see you around probably…” You nod "probably not.” You say hesitantly, and he laughs. You Are interrupted by the taxi honking its horn. “I hope to see you around by the way. I'm Zack Gordon.” your smile drops immediately.
You compose yourself before he notices your change in attitude. You plaster on a fake smile and make your way out turning one last time. “We’ll see each other around Zack.” He smiles. The whole cab ride was silent, you're contemplating fate. What are the fucking odds of all the cafe’s you could have walked into you walked into his. When you least expect it you’re in front of your house. You walk in and immediately notice something off. You walk into your living room only to see someone sitting in the dark. You know who it is immediately. “Always with the theatrics, it's starting to get old. Would you like something to drink.” She sighs “Y/N I want to talk.” You sit clapping your hands causing the lights in the house to turn on.
“Right Pepper talk, i'm listening” Her eyes widen, showing her confusion. “Look, I'm not angry with our team or you, but I just have some crap to deal with… Alone.” Pepper looks down. “You don't have to go through this alone, you have us now.” Your eyes bolt to hers. “And how exactly do you know what i'm going through… You know what I don't need to know because it doesn't matter.” you sigh “I’ve gone through life alone. I dealt with the punches life has thrown my way by myself. This won't be the exception.” You see Peppers complexion turn red, she's angry. “Why can't you stop making yourself a martyr, talk about dealing with children? You and Tony are the only ones who can make me this irritated.”
“Because I'm broken Pepper and before Natasha or Wanda decide to tell you I'm an addict. Everything is wrong right now so I need to take a step away, I need to get clean.” Peppers eyes soften moving to sit next to you. “You know i'm not leaving your side right?” Your eyes begin to water. “I relapsed… it's bad Pepper. I've never fallen this hard and I'm scared.” She hugs you. “I’ve never had this… people who really care it was just Logan and I. As of recently it was David, Viv, and I. Now I lost them and I can't. I can't sleep, I can't breathe, and I'm so tired Pepper I don't know how much more of this I can take.”
“Okay come on Y/N let's get you to your room.” You and Pepper stand on your way up the stairs and you start to stumble. “I’m sorry you have to see me like this. I am very sorry I drank coffee to sober up but it didn't work.” She nods “It’s okay we’ll talk about it tomorrow.” You both finally make it to your room and as soon as your head hits the pillow you fall asleep.
When you wake up you are surprised by your surroundings you didn't quite remember how you got here. You sit up and hear chattering downstairs. You go down stairs, the memories of last night making their way to you now. THE AVENGERS HAVING BREAKFAST IN YOUR KITCHEN. You watch as thor brakes your plates making you flinch. “As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm I dont think Y/N would appreciate us breaking her plates.” you clear your throat and as you do everyone goes quiet. “Good Morning everyone.”

Can You Feel The Sun? (Chapter Seven): Flying Towards An Early Grave
Notes: Still posting my little backlog, I will warn in advanced, the next chapter is the heist (finally) AND IT IS A CHONKER, but for now have a little appetizer with some fun times, smut, and foreshadowing!~
Word Count: 10860
Chapter Warnings: heavy foreshadowing, food, blowjobs, groping, protected vaginal sex, car sex
If you haven’t yet, you can read the previous chapter here!~
V’s body is heavy as she gets to her apartment door, ready to curl up into bed and call it a day. She’s exhausted with adrenaline gone. She presses her thumb to the panel. The little intercom doorbell is also the lock, scanning and searching for SID validation. It takes a moment to scan, it seems to be lagging more lately.
Calling.
The intercom says it’s calling, why is it calling? She can hear the automated ringing and her lights inside are probably flashing. It only does this if the SID doesn’t match the apartment owner’s, assuming them a guest. V presses again.
Calling.
She presses harder.
Calling.
She tries her entire hand.
Calling.
She kicks her door, a heavy sound as her boot collides with it. That doesn’t help with the lock, but it makes her feel a little better. Just what she needs; bloody, sore, and locked out of her apartment for who fucking knows why? Her stomach growls as she pulls up the number for building maintenance.
“Megabuilding Maintenance, how can I help?”
“I’m locked out of my apartment,” V signs, her choker translator on.
“What do you mean?”
“The lock isn’t recognizing my SID.”
“Can I get your name and apartment number?”
V gives them the details and they say they’re sending a maintenance guy. All of the services floor is nearly shut down at the late hour, her stomach growling. No doubt the maintenance guy will take his sweet fucking time, so much for getting some decent sleep. She gets a burrito, a Nicola, and a little thing of ketchup from the machines. Sitting on the ground near her door, dumping ketchup on her burrito as she eats it.
By the time the guy arrives she’s finished eating, drinking, and is a little unsure what’s dried blood versus dried ketchup on her shirt. She hops to her feet when she sees the guy walking up, a massive case of resting bitch face. V doubts he wanted to be dragged out at three am to help unlock a door, but it’s not her fault the tech fucked up.
“You V?” he asks, voice gruff and annoyed.
“Yep.”
“Hard day?” His eyebrow raises, gaze focused on her blood stained flesh and chrome.
“Work.”
“Ah… I see,” he nods, “so, what's the issue with your door?”
Night City is one of the few places where one can just admit to being a mercenary for a living, even if it did earn her an odd look. V presses her hand to the lock button again and it once again initiates a call.
“Doesn’t recognize my SID.”
“Hmm, you are V, right?” He raises an eyebrow.
“Who the fuck else would I be? The building has a picture of me on file for fucks sake.”
“Hey, hey, nowadays with enough eddies anybody can look like anybody.”
“If I had an identity worth stealing, you really think I’d be living here?”
“Fair enough, let’s check something,” he pulls out a holo tablet, jacking it into the bottom of the intercom lock, “this will show what the lock is reading it as, try again.”
V keeps an eye on his tablet as she presses her hand back to the lock and the projected information starts to show. And for a moment she sees herself; her face, her name, her information, and all the shit Vik had to set up for her to have SID. Then in a blink of an eye it glitches out and the information shifts. She watches her nearly mugshot like photo shift into that of a man, with short dark hair and dark eyes. V [REDACTED] becomes Robert John Linder. Birthdate shifting from November 12th, 2056 to November 16, 1988. Birthplace shifting from Seven Devils, North Carolina to College Station, Texas.
Who the hell is this old man?
“Looks like it’s reading your SID chip as someone else's, strange, any chance you’ve been spiked by a ‘runner?”
“No, even if I was, not sure why they’d want to make my SID register to some senior citizen.”
“Weird, can’t think of how else this would happen? Seems like it starts to read your chip and then changes to this guy’s. Do you know him?”
“Don’t hang around old folks homes too much, actually. Just some random dude to me.”
“Hmmm.”
“I can promise you, I’m not a ninety year old cowboy man.”
“Somehow I noticed that, actually… looks like the guy is dead.”
“What?”
“Mmhmm, scroll down a bit and there’s the date his death certificate was issued,” the guy shows her, “you’ll probably need to have your SID looked at, see what’s wrong with it. For now, I can unlock it for you and have them add whoever this guy is to registered owners, so, you won’t be locked out until you fix it.”
“Fine, I guess.”
“But that does mean if this guy’s ghost decides to pop in for a visit, lock won’t stop him,” the man jokes, offering the first smile since he’s been here.
“Somehow I’ll handle it, thanks for the help, and if it’s not too much trouble can you forward me the details of that SID info?”
“Sure, no problem,” the maintenance man’s eyes glow and she can feel the very soft warmth and whirr of her neuroplant as it accepts the file.
She gives one final thanks as he unlocks her apartment and she’s finally able to step foot inside. Thankfully her door locks behind her and she makes a beeline for her shower, scrubbing blood and sweat from her skin; finding bruises, cuts, and flesh wounds she hadn’t noticed in the midst of fighting.
It takes her a little longer than expected to wind down for the night, the merc putting in her optic contacts and playing with the bot. Looking through its eyes, she has it twist and climb all throughout her apartment, making herself dizzy until she falls out of bed and bangs her head against the floor. Finally, putting the cute spider looking tech away when she feels the knot starting to form on her head. Then, setting her alarm and sleeping for the night.
V is still tired when her alarm vibrates beneath her pillow, waking her up as the sunlight streams in from her large window, warming her skin. She checks her phone, double checks the time and that Dex hasn’t sent the car for her yet. The young merc rushes through her morning routine; showering, brushing her teeth, dressing, and taking her medication with some Chromanticore in hopes of getting some energy back.
She’s out the door and has her mask on in a matter of minutes, phone buzzing with the message that Dex’s car is waiting for her. As she comes down the steps of her building she sees the same limousine and bodyguard waiting outside of it. But this time when he opens the door for her, there is no Dex, nobody. Chills creep their way up her spine, but she gets in nonetheless, sinking into the leather backseat as Dex’s guard starts to drive them away.
The guard is quiet, doesn’t explain where they’re going or why, V has a feeling he wouldn’t tell even if she asked. So, she doesn’t. Only the radio drones on, a mixture of news and occasional pop music from bands and singers she doesn’t know or care to know; an anouncer coming over the radio to speak somberly.
“Today marks the fifty-fourth anniversary of the attack on Arasaka Tower. Fifty-four years ago a group of terrorists stormed Arasaka Tower and detonated a bomb, which forever changed the history of our dear city. Devastating the lives of millions; thousands dying in the initial attack and more perishing in the aftermath as well. Today we ask for a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives in this senseless act of violence so many years ago….:”
A beat of silence, barely a moment, then the high energy voice returns.
“Now, after this short music break, we return with the heartwarming story of Stumpy, the three legged puppy who’s gone viral after the use of veterinary cyberware has given the pup a new lease on life!~”
V rolls her eyes, sounds about right, barely a moment for something so somber. No real grief or empathy, time to move on to a cute puppy because that keeps people happy and listening. She watches the city around her change, spotting the Valentino graffiti starting to cover the buildings and that they’re entering Heywood. She sends a heads up text to Jackie, letting him know they’re not far from his house.
A short moment after, the driver is parking outside Jackie’s garage and she watches the older merc walking out. The guard opens the limousine back door and Jackie relaxes when he sees V, climbing into the seat next to her.
“Hey, V, you figure out what’s going on?”
“Was sort of hoping you had…”
“Asked T-Bug, said it’s a surprise.”
“Not sure I like Bug’s idea of surprises.”
“Hey, hombre,” Jackie calls out to the guard as he starts to drive them away, “mind telling us where we’re headed?”
They’re met with silence, because of they are. V nervously wrings her hands as she watches for signs of where they’re going based on the passing scenery.
“Has to be something to do with prepping for the job, just wish I knew what.”
“Speaking of which, you got the bot on you?”
“Yeah, brought it just in case and if Bug’s there she’ll want to take a look. Wonder if there’s any chance of keeping the Flathead after this?”
She knows Dex said it’s a single use toy, but...who knows, maybe she could somehow keep it afterwards.
“Why’s that?”
“Its cute.”
“You think a military grade combat bot is cute?”
“It's a little spider.”
“You find the weirdest shit cute, I swear.”
“It is cute!”
“It’s-” Jackie looks out the window, “shit are we in Corpo Plaza?”
“Maybe we’re just passing through?”
As if only to prove her wrong, the limousine parks outside a store on Senate Avenue, the bright sign says Jinguji. Even looking through the window, it looks entirely like a place that her and Jackie do not belong. Brightly lit, immaculately clean with fancy designer clothes on display.
“We’re here,” the guard tells them and the doors open with the press of a button.
V and Jackie share a look before getting out of the limousine, standing before the Jinguji store like deers stuck in headlights.
“Dex can’t be serious, Jinguji?” Jackie says, scratching at the shaved underneath of his hair.
“Looks…. Fancy.”
“Corp store, designer; a sock in there will cost you a few thousand eddies.”
“I know he says we need to play corpo, but… I don’t know, it feels weird.”
“I’m sure Dex knows what he’s doing. But, uh, you gotta take off the mask, chica.”
“What, why?”
“‘Cause its fucking Jinguji, they’re not gonna let you through the door looking like that.”
“You’re one to talk, you got a ketchup stain on your shirt.”
“Firstly, that’s blood. Secondly, you’re a wearing a jacket you stole off a dead guy last week.”
“Not like he needs it!”
“Jackie, V!” A voice yells out, drawing the merc’s attention into the doorway of the store, T-Bug in realspace, wearing a black netrunning suit, “would you gonks stop bickering and get in here?”
“Yes, ma’am,” the mercs speak and sign in unison, falling the netrunner into the corp store.
There’s a large lit up advertisement at the back of the store. Gold decor dripping down from the ceiling, plush white couches, and an ice bucket with champagne. To her surprise, there’s no other shoppers within the store. A man in a tailored designer suit sits at the desk, greeting the two mercs as they walk in.
“Welcome to Jinguji, an oasis of elegance!~”
V gives an awkward nod and wave. She’s not sure what else to do. She doesn’t belong here; she knows that much. A dirty black leather jacket under the bright lights and old raggedy boots on shiny polished floors. The merc wants nothing more than to run out of the store, some of the clothes she sees displayed are nice, if she’s being honest. A few bit tacky for her taste, but others are cute or sexy with dramatic flair, but nothing she would ever really have a reason to wear.
“Mind telling us why the fuck we’re here, Bug?” Jackie asks and the netrunner chuckles.
“To get into Konpeki, you two will have to look the part. Rather than blindly guessing what will fit, Dex is flitting the bill and getting you both some corpo threads,” T-Bug explains, taking a seat on on of the couches.
“Where is everyone?”
“Store is rented out for the next couple hours, discretion. V, did you bring the bot?”
“Got it in my bag.”
“Lemme see, got to make sure it’s in working shape.” V puts the bot down on the table, T-Bug opening the case and looking over the bot, running diagnostics that the merc can’t begin to understand,
“Right this way, you two, I’m sure we’ll find something perfect for both of you,” the man who greeted them, grabs their attention again, “but it would be easier, if I have a full idea of your features, miss.”
“Told you,” Jackie taunts and V elbows him in the side, slowly taking off her mask and she feels bare. And she knows people have seen her face before, but this is work and it just feels… wrong.
“Wonderful, so we’ll begin with the gentlemen, I think you’ll find we have a wonderful array of fine suits in our men’s department.”
The man, who’s fancy name tag says Zane, shows them a vast collection of suits. They range from slick classic black ones, deep navy blues, florals, brights, embroidered, and every color she can imagine. Its hard to imagine the big merc in any of them. She’s always seen him in muscle shirts or his favorite red and black jacket. His eyes seem to land on a red suit with gold detailing.
“Well-”
“Point is to blend in, not stand out, Jack,” T-Bug calls out, scolding him without having to even look at him or his choice in suit.
“Just black then.”
“Wise choice, sir, our tailors will get your measurements and get the perfect fit for you.”
Another employee guides Jackie to a fitting room and V feels the sudden urge to sink into the ground, Zane’s attention now solely on her. She scratches at her cheek and flips on her choker translator.
“Now, what about you? We have plenty of formal options in women’s fashion as well. A more androgynous business suit or perhaps a dress?”
She’s shown mannequins dressed in tight body con dresses with various necklines, materials, colors, and a few well fitted pants suits. Her eyes are drawn to the dresses, if she’s being honest. She has a rather small collection of skirts and dresses, for off days, but she never has a chance to wear anything more formal than a sundress or mini skirt over leggings. These dresses are dramatic, gorgeous; some with mesh inlays or cut outs.
But, like Bug said; they’re there to blend in, not stand out. This isn’t an outfit for fun but for work and if something goes wrong, the last thing she needs is this going to shit and having to battle in a tight constricting dress or too high of heels.
“I think a pants suit in black would be best; keep it simple.”
“Understood.”
V taken to a fitting room, given the chance to put on the ready to buy pantsuits in privacy. A stark white button up blouse, black blazer, and black slacks. And she knows immediately it will need to be tailored to suit her; the pants longer than her legs and the shirt loose around her chest. The tailor comes in after a moment and begins measuring, marking where things need to be taken in and raised. V left trying not to get embarrassed each time the measuring tape is wrapped around a part of her.
“Is there a way to make the blazer sleeves easier to roll up?” She signs once her arms are done being measured. The material is stiffer and harder to get tight around her elbows when trying; she wants her Mantis Blades easily used.
“Hmm, lets see, maybe it’d be best to use it more like an accessory rather than wearing it properly?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, you could just wear it over your shoulders like a cape,” the woman drapes it that way across V’s shoulders.
“Not my thing.”
“Then you can carry it, like this,” the woman shows holding the jacket back over her shoulder with her fingers hooked in it’s collar. It looks alright, casual enough, though having a jacket and not wearing it still reads as strange to the merc.
“I’ll consider that.”
“It can also help keep you cool. Now, lets talk about makeup, hair, and shoes.”
V listens and nods as the woman gives recommendations; getting V a pair of low heeled black synthetic leather shoes. Then going into advice on hair; recommending french twist, a bun, or a low ponytail depending on how formal V wants to go. The woman recommends simple classic makeup styles and a few other tips for the merc to meet her full corpo potential. Finally, with measurements, adjustments, and everything marked; V is allowed to change back into her street clothes. She leaves the room, seeing Jackie already in his regular clothes again and sitting next to T-Bug.
“We have all the measurements down and will begin altering the clothes immediately.”
“Good,” T-Bug confirms with Zane, “remember we need them finished and delivered to The Afterlife by five.”
“I assure you, our tailors are already on it.”
“V,” T-Bug calls out when she sees the short merc, “got something for you.”
V sits down on the couch, watching as T-Bug sets out a pair of white hearing aids. They’re designed like her normal ones, just more boring.
“Hearing aids? I already have those.”
“These are special, optic camo. No corpo worth their salt has anything less than top of the line phonic implants, with press of a button or a thought, these will go invisible.. They’ll work just like your regular ones, but look like you’re wearing nothing. Try them out.”
She switches her blue hearing aids with the new ones, they fit well and she pushes the thought of turning the camo on. V catches her reflection in a mirror in the store, she can feel them, but see nothing.
“Perfect, no one will be any the wiser. This also means no signing or translator.”
“Oh, I see.”
“I know its not ideal, but it’s just the reality of it. Corpo types like this; lose your hearing, new implants. Vocal chords fried, get a new set in gold. Get paralyzed, new legs or entire nervous system. Go blind, new optics. They see you signing or using hearing aids, you’ll stand out like a sore thumb.”
“I get it.”
“No sweat, I’ll do the talking, V,” Jackie comforts her and then turns his attention to Bug, “So, what now?”
“We’ll go over the full plan this evening at The Afterlife, you two need to be there by five. We’ll talk with Dex and you’ll be in Konpeki by eight tonight, relic in hand before midnight strikes.”
“So we get to kick back and relax until five?”
“As long as you’re there by five and ready to go, I couldn’t care less what you do, Jack.”
“Said this place was rented out, right?” V asks, noticing a dramatic purple dress that reminds her of a certain tarot card reader’s favorite color.
“Yeah, why?”
“How much longer is this place reserved?”
“Another hour, maybe two and again, I ask why?”
“Ow, hell that for, chica?” Jackie looks up when V kicks him in the shin.
“Call Misty, dumbass. Buy her something nice, make a date out of it before we go on the job.” V tells him, remembering Misty’s concerns from the other night. It might ease her mind a bit to have a nice afternoon with Jackie, dress shopping and a fancy lunch in City Center. Just a chance to enjoy themselves.
“Dex is nice V, but sincerely doubt he wants to pay for Misty a new dress.”
“Oh no, if only one of us had scammed ten grand off of Militech, oh wait,” V says, pulling the Militech credchip from her bag and sees the twinkle in Jackie’s eyes.
“You serious, V?”
“Should get her a hell of a nice dress, maybe you a suit, and a nice fancy lunch; play corpo for an afternoon.”
“Shit, V,” he takes the credchip from her fingers, “what’d I do without you?”
“You two are going to make me puke,” T-Bug says, rolling her eyes while Jackie is already calling up Misty.
“Just wait until Misty gets here and the constant pet names start, you’ll really lose your lunch.”
“Ugh, more reason to get out of here, I’ll be taking the Flathead with me to keep in working shape.”
“Can I ask you something before you go?”
“Got more code you need me to check?”
“Not quite, had an issue with my SID chip last night, was wondering if there was a chance I was hacked?”
“You get spiked, jaina?” Jackie asks when he finishes chatting with Misty.
“Don’t know, couldn’t unlock my door last night, reader thought I was some old dude.”
“Hmm, SID hacks are tricky, we’re going to be using one for your covers in Konpeki. But they usually only alter your ID a bit and die after so many hours. Thing is, that wouldn’t really benefit anyone.”
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, I don’t think anyone would get much out of pretending I’m some ninety year old dead fuck.”
“I can jack in, see if I find anything in your soft.”
“Sure, if you don’t mind.”
V shifts her back to T-Bug, sweeping her hair off the nape of her neck and showing her neuroports. The netrunner pushes some loose strands out of the way and slots her personal jack into V’s biomon. A few moments pass and V can feel her cheeks flushing a bit, a weird feeling to having T-Bug directly touch her and jack in to her tech. This is the first time they’ve met in person, may even be the first time Bug has seen her face.
“Everything looks clear to me, SID is registering as yours, no signs of a hack,” Bug explains, jacking out.
“Weird, maintenance guy showed last night it was showing as some dead guy.”
“Strange, must be some sort of glitch.”
“Or you’re being haunted.”
“Haha, very funny, Jackie.”
“Hello… “
A soft voice calls out and V lights up seeing Misty poking her head into the fancy luxury store, looking every bit as nervous as V had been. Jackie is up and rushing towards Misty in a heart beat, pulling her into a hug and twirling her around, kissing her head.
“You’re here, mi carina.”
“Babe,” Misty says, giggiling as she’s put back down on her feet, then steps up on her tip toes to kiss Jackie’s lips.
“Gonna puke,” T-Bug comments low under her breath and V tries not to laugh.
“V, Bug,” Misty smiles at the two, “glad I got here before you two left out.”
“What’s up?”
Jackie walks Misty over closer to them, large hand on her hip as she rummage through her purse. After a moment, she pulls out three beaded bracelets. A mixture of beads in black, gold, and blue mottled with gold. T-Bug is already raising her eyebrow and V’s not sure how well Misty’s spiritualism will go over with the runner.
“These are protection bracelets. Lapis lazuli, black tourmaline, and gold sheen obsidian. They’re all meant to help with creating a protective spiritual barrier, it should keep you all safe from negative energies and frequencies.”
“Ay, you still in knots over this, mi alma?”
“It would just make me feel better knowing you have a little more protection, babe.”
Misty slides the biggest of the bracelets onto Jackie’s wrist and he gives her a soft smile, kissing her temple before starts to give the others to V and Bug. The young merc slides it on with a smile and T-Bug takes it in hand, with a less enthusiasm.
“Thanks, Misty, I appreciate it,” V tells her and elbows T-Bug in the side, earning her a glare, but the netrunner plays nice.
“Thanks…”
“I know it’s not much, but a little protection is better than none and should keep energies bright.”
“Right….”
“Well,” V cuts in before Bug can say anything else, “we’ll be getting out of your hair, have fun you two!~”
“Thanks again, V, see you two at The Afterlife.”
Jackie waves them off, Bug packing up and V putting her usual hearing aids in their case, away in her pocket. The runner and young merc leave the store, Dex’s guard already left a while ago, so V will have to either call her car or use the public transit. Come to think of it, she’s not sure how she’s going to kill time until its game time.
“V,” Bug stops her outside Jinguji before they go their separate ways for now, “gotta ask, you really believe in that spiritual crap?”
“No, but she does and it makes her happy, so, why not?”
“I guess, if she really thinks a bracelet is going to save us from Arasaka.”
“Won’t kill you to accessorize a little, Bug.”
“Whatever you say.”
They say their goodbyes and V is left thinking again about what she wants to do to pass the time. She could do a few short gigs, but her mind is preoccupied with the heist. Ultimately, V finds herself taking the NCART to El Coyote Cojo. Mostly just because she’s bored and maybe something or someone there will occupy her time. The bar isn’t too active at the early hour and she doesn’t see Mama Welles around.
“V!” Pepe greets her when she walks through.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Same old, same old. Jaquito is still out, Senora Welles is out shopping, but Jake is taking out the trash in the back if you want to say hi.”
“I think I might go and do just that.”
Playing grab ass with one of her go to lays seems like a solid way to waste her time. V walks through the bar and out one of the backdoors that open to the alley with the dumpster. Sure enough, Jake is there tossing away a trash bag. He’s around 6’5 about as tall as Jackie, muscular, with a head of ginger hair shaved down on the shades and a thick beard.
She throws her arms around his waist, feeling the muscle underneath his shirt. He teases his fingers over her forearms, the chrome of his Gorilla Fingers cyberware sending a soft chill through her skin.
“Hey, V, new chrome?” He runs over the chrome patterns in her arms.
She hums against his back in response, not wanting to move. But, he twists in her arms. He cups her face in chromed fingers, for a moment, his browns furrow in confusion.
“No hearing aids?”
She pulls away, enough space for her to sign.
“Camouflage ones, it and the blades are necessary for the gig.”
“Oh yeah, Jackie’s been talking everyone to death about this heist you two got planned. He better be damn glad no one here’s got loose lips.” His hands drop from her face and loosely wrap around her waist, fingers starting to graze over her ass.
“Can’t blame him for being excited.”
“Hmmm and you?”
“Nervous.”
“Figured as much,” he squeezes her ass, “you looking for a distraction?”
“If I wasn’t I wouldn’t be letting you grope my ass in broad daylight, now would I?”
A low dry chuckle echoes in his chest and he dives in for a kiss. It’s quick and rough, his beard scratching over her skin before he pulls away. She can’t help but giggle as he pulls her back into the bar, hand still shamelessly on her ass.
“Pepe! I’m going on lunch break!”
“Yeah yeah, go on.”
“C’mon,” Jake guides her out of the bar, “lemme at least buy you lunch first.”
“You actually trying to be nice today?”
“Something like that.”
V settles into his passenger side seat as Jake climbs behind the wheel. They pull away from El Coyote Cojo, driving around Heywood and finding a drive in to go through, Burgers, fries, and pop bought; Jake finds a relatively empty place to park meanwhile V has already begun taking the pickles off her burgers.
“So, you wanna actually talk about it?” Jake asks, taking a bite of his burger.
“Not much to talk about,” she signs with salt covered fingers and a mouthful of fries, “biggest job of our career. Nerves are natural.”
Not to mention the shady client, the fact they’re robbing Arasaka, the fact they’re robbing Yorinobu specifically, the fact they have to play corpo, that V will have to force herself not to sign, and that every fiber of her being is screaming that something is going to go wrong. Then she has the weirdness of her SID chip fucking up on her mind as well.
“Yeah, but you overthink, so I know that little brain of yours is spinning in a billion directions.”
V shrugs, “No more than usual, so, what’s been going on with you?”
“Not much, been thinking of quitting the bar.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, get to work the day shift so I can pick the twins up from school and spend some time with them. But, day shift in a bar basically means staring at a wall and waiting for Senora Welles to cut me a paycheck.”
“You don’t like getting paid to sit around and look pretty?”
“Not gonna lie, it’d be hard to find a boss as forgiving as Senora Welles.”
“Not every boss would let you take an hour or longer lunch just to play grab ass with me?”
“Eh, pretty sure if she knew what I was doing with her precious adopted daughter, she’d already have me fired.”
“Oh please, she’s known you longer than me.”
“Yeah, but she likes you more, you’re basically her kid and I’m her employee,” he pauses watching V roll her eyes, “you know, she’s been worrying a lot about you and Jackie, lately. She knows things are getting riskier with the merc work and-”
V quiets him with a kiss, not wanting to hear another word of this. She comes to him for a distraction. The kiss is messy and he tastes like greasy fast food, but she’s sure she’s not any better, pushing her tongue into his mouth. She cups his jaw with one hand, scratching over his beard and as he deepens the kiss, she drops her other hand into his lap. He’s already half hard in his jeans, pressing into her touch as she gropes him through the denim. Jake curses against her lips, breaking their kiss.
“You talk too much, honey,” she chastises him, a soft smile on her lips as she undoes his belt buckle, he lifts his hips, allowing space to pull his pants and boxer down just enough to get his cock out.
She pulls her legs up into her seat, on her knees so she can fully lean over the center console into his lap. V pushes hair back behind her ear and takes his dick into her mouth; not bothering to tease, swallowing around him. The taste of him on her tongue causes a heat in her center to stir, getting slick between her thighs as she bobs her head up and down. He groans as she strokes and sucks him, teasing her tongue ring along the head of his cock. The bitterness of his precum and the salt of his skin making her dizzy with need.
His chrome fingers slide across the expanse of her back, reaching out to grab her ass. He gropes and fondles her through her pants, the rough feeling of her jeans and panties being pressed against her sensitive wet folds. Jake curses as V alternates between sucking, licking, and taking him as deep into her throat as she can.
He tugs on her hair, bleached strands wrapped around chrome, pulling her mouth off him. Drool covering his cock and her lips. She pouts at him for stopping her, cheeks flushed and breathing heavy. He gives her a swat on the ass, barely hard enough to sting.
“Want inside of you.”
That’s all the explanation he gives and she pulls away, thankful that the windows of his car have steamed from body heat, she begins to quickly strip off her clothes. Its clumsy as she tries to strip down in a car seat, throwing her jacket off into the back, kicking off her boots, before yanking her pants and panties down in one fluid movement. She curses herself for not wearing a skirt or something with easier access. A part of her mind recognizes how stupid she must look, still in her shirt, bra, and her socks staying on after tugging off her pants. But lust has killed her ability to think, just wanting him inside of her. Jake has rolled a condom on, but otherwise has simply watched the flustered merc strip down.
V’s easily able to jump into his lap, straddling him and having her back to the steering wheel. She steadies herself with one hand on his shoulder, the other lining his cock up with her entrance, sinking herself down onto his dick. She’s slick enough that she takes him all in one movement, both cursing out at the feeling. The stretch of his cock inside of her and the tightness of her cunt around him. Jake digs his nails into her hips and bounces her on his cock, fucking up into her. He takes complete control, setting a brutal pace that leaves V reeling with every thrust. All she can do is wrap her arms around his neck and moan against his sweaty skin, accepting each harsh movement of him inside of her.
The tension inside of her grows tighter with every thrust, every smack of skin against skin like a strike of a match trying to grow a larger flame. She can’t think, can’t focus, every thought consumed with pleasure and a desire to be pushed over the edge. Bruises form on her hips where he hold her, where he uses her for pleasure. The chair of his cheap car creaks with each bounce and a few thrusts slams her lower back into the steering wheel, but she doesn’t care, couldn’t if she tried. She whines and whimpers against his skin, feeling her end nearing.
And then the tension snaps, orgasm hitting her fast and hard, she digs her nails into his skin, squirming and writhing as she moans out her pleasure. Mind a haze as she’s overwhelmed with her pleasure. He thrusts a few more times and she nearly chokes at the continued stimulation, the feeling of him fucking into her already sensitive cunt. Then he curses, bringing her hips down fully to meet his own one last time before he cums, spilling his seed inside the condom.
V rolls off of him and back into the passenger seat, hating the empty feeling Her skin is sweaty and flushed, as much she hates it, she needs to get her clothes back on. Fumbling to get her pants and panties out of the passenger side floorboard. Pulling them on and shoving her feet in her boots. V waits as Jake ties off the condom and adjusts his jeans, opening the car door and tossing the condom away into a nearby dumpster.
The Night City air feels cool compared to the heat of the car after fucking, she watches him light up a cigarette outside of the car and grimaces. He climbs back into the driver's seat, keeping the window rolled down and she makes a gagging sound as the smoke hits her nose.
“You coming back to the bar with me?” He asks, blowing smoke out of the window.
“No,” she signs, thankful the choker translator can survive sweat, “I’ll catch the train back to Watson.”
“Let strangers see you sweaty and fuck-dazed?”
“Well, it’s a good look for me.”
“Can’t really deny that, now can I.”
She rolls her eyes and grabs her jacket getting out of the car, walking away on still slightly wobbly legs. V takes the train back to Watson, fiddling with her holophone the entire way. The merc gets off at the stop closest to her megabuilding and makes her way to her apartment; lock recognizing her on the first try.
V checks the time and decides to get ready to go to The Afterlife. Those nerves she had managed to fuck away for a moment creep up on her all over again. She shakes her head not wanting to focus on her anxieties, she strips down and grabs a shower, cleaning off the sweat from her liaison.
The merc pulls her hair back in a small low-set ponytail and does her makeup to the recommendations of the stylist. She gets dressed and uses the new camouflaged hearing aids, she takes her mask with her too. Though she knows she can’t wear it into Konpeki, she’ll still be walking into The Afterlife. That thought alone twists her guts into nervous knots.
The Afterlife is the go to bar for the top of their game, Major Leagues mercs and fixers. It’s where the biggest deals are made, the easiest place to catch a drink and a job, but only mercs or fixers of a certain standard are allowed through its doors. Jackie brags about the place like it’s heaven for mercenaries. If they’re going to become regular fixtures of the bar after this, then she’d prefer to maintain her usual level of anonymity for fixers moving forward. She’ll drop the mask when they’re finally in corpo threads.
V slides on Misty’s bracelet as well, fiddling with the beads meant to provide some form of protection. Her mind goes back to Misty’s tarot card reading, while she doesn’t put much weight on it, her friend’s fortune telling often sticks with her. The Wheel of Fortune is sticking out to her; she could care less if the cards thinks she’s stupid or if she’s about to fall in love, the latter of which so ridiculous she can’t help but dismiss it. But the idea of conflict sticks out, fear of the heist going wrong has been heavy on her mind. Something always goes slightly wrong, no job is perfect. But this has the highest stakes she’s ever encountered.
V has new cyberware, the best possible tech and upgrades from Vik. She has Jackie, her best choom and partner in crime who’s never let her down. There’s T-Bug, her friend and brilliant netrunner who could bring half of Night City down if she wished. Their fixer is Dex, one of the best in regards to his job, he has everything to gain by having their backs covered. They have military grade tech and an inside look into Konpeki. They are going in under the best possible circumstances.
She has to remind herself, review this again and again, that if something goes wrong someone there should be able to take care of it. But, those nerves don’t fade even as she leaves her apartment.
The Afterlife isn’t far from V’s apartment, practically a hop and skip downtown. Barely five minutes pass before she’s under the roofed alley, nearing the club. Vivid cyan and purple graffiti across the wall, trash along the way.
“Porque ya tengo planes para esta noche!"
The voice is familiar, Jackie’s and V pressed her back to the side of the vending machine, he’s telling someone he already has plans for tonight. He sounds frustrated, like he’s on the verge of pulling his hair out.
“Virgen Santsima, ma! Te vas a enterar mañana,” a beat of silence, “también te quiero, ma."
The conversation ways on her, he’s talking to Senora Welles. Remembering Jake talking about her feelings, that the matriarch has been worrying herself half to death. And it sounds like Jackie has been on the receiving end of that worry for a while. V pulls her mask on and rounds the corner past the vending machine, stepping in front of the main entrance of The Afterlife. Her friend standing in the doorway under the harsh green light.
“Heh, about time, chica,” he greets, tucking his phone into his pocket, she catches the blue of Misty’s bracelet mingled with his usual gold ones.
“What’s going on?”
“Ehhh, y'know. She's worried about me - whatever. Can't help herself, y'know - checkin’ to see if I'm not rottin' in some dumpster… like most of the Welles boys. Been worse lately.”
“Why’s that?”
“Started climbin' our way up. Got more an' more knives out there, waitin' to stab us in the back. Higher stakes, higher risk. She can see that.”
“Look like you’re about to keel over.” V reaches out, touching the red blotches on his skin, stress and sweat inflaming his skin.
“Years of merc work, and yet, still sweat like a roasted pig when I talk to my ma. It's really startin' to wear on me. More tell her everythin's OK, more I feel like I'm straight-up lyin’.”
“Well, hopefully you had a nice date with Misty at least.”
“Went about as well as talking to my ma right now,” he scratches at the back of his neck, “for two women who don’t get along, they sure agree when it comes to worrying about me.”
“They worry because they love you, worse things in life than people giving a damn about you.”
“Yeah, yeah, don’t matter none. Not anymore, Afterlife, here we come, baby!”
Jackie changes the topic and she can’t really blame him for it, rubbing his hands together and practically cheering in excitement. This is everything they’ve talked about, everything they’ve said they want. So, why does she still have a lump in her throat?
“Afterlife… we’re really here.”
“Does not get any higher, choom. And you know somethin' else? We fuckin' earned it, chica!”
“No point in standing around then, is there?’
“Ready to get your cherry popped?” he laughs leading her into the club, “Yeeeah! Come on!”
“Little late for that one, Jack,” she teases as they make their way down the stairs, a pair of double doors opening up for them. A short step down into a small hallway with mercs and fixers alike talking under the green glow of a sign bearing the club’s name.
“Place used to be a morgue - you believe that?”
“Really?”
“I know, right? Way before our time, that. When proper burials were still a thing.”
They come to another set of doors, through the small window V can see the true club main room beyond them. But a man stands guarding them, around Jackie’s height and a similar bulky build. Cyberware indented along his jawline and nose. His face is stony, eyes sharp when Jackie and V stop before him, then he puts a large hand out in front of him.
“And who might you clowns be?”
“Jackie and V,” the taller of the mercs says with a grin, “Dexter Deshawn is waitin’ on us.”
The bouncer gives them a look and V is glad for her mask helping hide her emotions. His expression is dismissive, looking down on them, making her feel all at once that she has not earned her place in this club. A baby merc, new to the city, barely six months under her belt and she’s standing at the Afterlife. How the fuck did she get here?
“Yo, Dex. Got two live ones sayin' they're here to see ya,” his optics glow as he calls Dex, “Yeah? All right, then. Says he needs a second or two. Go get yourselves drinks or somethin'.”
The doors open to a green and cyan lit club. Music louder as the barrier breaks away, people fill the room. Some sipping on alcohol and other’s puffing away on cigarettes; the smell of nicotine and booze wafting from the bar.
“Way ahead o' you, viejo,” Jackie laughs and leads the way in.
V follows him around the corner; the large bar coming into full view. It’s lit green, the same neon sign reading Afterlife at the top of it. A bartender in a blue button up slings drinks to the patrons. Floor to ceiling columns, like tubes, are places around the club each filled with water with a dancer twirling around inside with strategically place chrome clothing covering the most private parts of them. Everything is basked in that green neon light, despite being surrounded by mercs like her, she feels so completely out of place.
Jackie marches proudly across the bar floor, stride confident and unwavering.
“This is it… The heart o' Night City! That's it right there - beating. Hear it?” he proclaims as they pass by rows of half closed off booths, “Can you imagine? Susan Forrest, Boa Boa, maybe even Morgan Blackhand… All sat on those stools, fell asleep on that same bar.”
Jackie sits in one of the barstools, beaming and brimming with excitement. His eyes wide as he takes it all in, the place he’s dreamed of for all his years. V climbs into the seat next to him, placing an elbow on the bar, leaning her head onto her hand, as she shifts to face him.
“Doubt that puts us in the same league as them,” V teases, Morgan Blackhand brought down Arasaka Tower. They’re stealing a biochip, hardly the same thing.
“Oh, but we are. They just don't know it yet,” Jackie tells her with a wink and she can’t help but roll her eyes.
“We-”
V drops her hand when she realizes Jackie’s attention has gone elsewhere, an older woman walking past the two. She’s nothing unusual, older looking than most of the crowd here, sure but nothing immediately stands out to V. An older woman with long gray hair shaved on one side and a bright yellow cropped sweater, She marches her way across the bar and into a blue lit booth, moving past a guard.
“'Ey. See that old lady there?”
“Yeah, didn’t know grannies were your type,” V taunts him again, he’s always given her shit for her taste in older people, yet he’s ogling some grandma?
“Fuck off,” he playfully smacks her, but nearly knocks her from her chair, “that’s fuckin’ Rogue, best fixer in all o' Night City.”
“Thought Dex was the best?”
“Pff… Rogue was linin' up jobs when Dex was still shittin' in diapers, heh. Place belongs to her.”
“What can I getcha?” The bartender cuts in, hands down on the bar in front of them. She’s a woman with long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail and a soft round face.
V doesn’t drink on the job, something she’s always stuck to. But, this is Jackie’s dream and she knows how he likes to celebrate. If nothing else, their banter has failed to undo her nerves, maybe booze will do the trick.
“You order,” she signs to Jackie and he grins.
“You drinkin’?”
“Special night, pick me something nice.”
“Two Tequila Old Fashioneds with a splash of cerveza and a chili garnish.”
“A duo of Johnny Silverhands, comin' up,” the bartender starts to put the drinks together, “somebody did their homework.”
“Guessing the dog ate mine,” V signs, confused because what the fuck is a silver hand?
“Age-old tradition. Drinks're named after our regulars,” she explains, putting the drinks down in front of the mercs.
“What’d I have to do to get a drink named after me?”
“Snuff it,” she grins, “ In mind-blowingly spectacular fashion, Mid-op'd be best.”
“Aah, what a beaut of a tradition!”
“Steep price for a drink, not going to lie,” V signs, letting her nerves speak for her, if only for a moment. Her guts are in knots, she can only hope the alcohol will untangle. All of the merc’s usual stress relieving tactics other than a weed brownie, have failed to do much of anything.
“Hey, everyone's gotta go sometime, right? Why not in style? Death’s nothing but the final flourish!”
“To hitting the major leagues,” she signs, holding her shot in the other hand.
“To becoming legends.”
She pushes her mask just up above her mouth, careful not to smudge her lipstick and they throw back their shots. Smooth but strong booze with a kick of spice from the garnish, a burn in her throat. Not her style, but she’s had worse. She pushes her mask back down, regarding the bartender, her nametag says Claire.
“So, who else can I drink here?” She still has no idea who Silverhand is, but maybe there’s a name she does recognize, reading the posted drink menu.
“All on the menu…”
“'Cept there's a spot missing. Morgan Blackhand, right?”
“Heh, true. Morgan's yet to make up his mind he's dead or still kickin',” Claire tells Jackie and V rolls her eyes.
“Think he’s still alive? It’s been years,” Jackie asks Claire.
“No way he’s still alive,.” The radio was just talking about the devastation of the tower going down, if that many folks were killed who were just near it, then there’s no way someone who was in the tower survived.
“Why not? Look at Rogue. Peeps from that era - a species unto themselves.”
“And one day we’re gonna be there too,” Jackie probably proclaims, “speaking of which, name’s Jackie Welles if you want to write down my recipe.”
“Sure.” There’s a playfulness in her tone, just going along with Jackie’s whims.
“Shot of vodka on the rocks, lime juice, ginger beer… oh, and most importantly - a splash of love.”
“Haha, I'll remember that.”
“Gag,” V signs just to see the glare Jackie levels her way, the playful smack of her arm.
“Okay, what’s your drink then?”
“Literally, the only thing I drink is like cherry cola with a splash of bourbon.”
“You know those are usually supposed to be reversed, the bourbon and coke.”
“Maybe so, but, and hear me out… cherry cola tastes better.”
“Heard you were Dex’s latest finds,” Claire tells them.
“Just biz, no big deal.”
“How'd you know?” V raises an eyebrow behind her mask.
“My job to know. Look around - how do you think meres earn their reps? Through gossip rivaling that of schoolgirls, that's how.”
“Mr. DeShawn see you now,” a booming voice rings out behind the mercs, turning around she sees Dex’s bodyguard. The first time she’s heard his voice.
“Love to hang, imbibe the vibe, but we got an important meeting,” Jackie tells Claire, getting up from his seat and V following suit, throwing some cash down on the bar.
“Break a leg.”
“This way,” the bodyguard tells them and the mercs falls in line behind him. He leads them around the bar, past the crowd and through a door towards the back of the club. The lighting shifting, more blue than green as they walk past another vending machine.
“Damn, holmes, you're huge... Work out?” Jackie asks, unable to stand the silence.
“Hmm.” A vague grunt as they pass through another door, the music fading as they get further from the main bar. But V can just hear the starting beat of some old dad rock, something about losing another day to pointless drudgery.
“Same here, y'know, in the ring. You do some kinda exotic shit? Kempo? Ninjitsu?”
Nothing as they turn another corner.
“Think you could take me, drop me?”
“Jackie…” Why must he sound like he’s picking a fight with the guy?
“In here,” the guard says, stopping and standing in front of another door.
"Este pinche tipo..."
The door opens and they’re greeted to the first room with warm lighting, though it just seems to be a storage corner. With a cabinet and vending machine. But to the left are barely see through walls of a booth that takes up half the room, through them V can just see T-Bug’s outline and leather couches.
They walk around, the front of the booth opened. A wrap around black leather couch goes around the back wall and left side of the booth. Dex sat on the back portion, talking into a holo about Excelsior and cold hard eddies. T-Bug sat to side, a table in the center of the room with the Flathead, Jinguji boxes, and shards placed on neat little index cards. There’s a small disconnect leather seat in the right corner, next to the door.
“Gotta bounce,” Dex hangs up, “well, if it ain’t Miss V.”
“Whole family in one place! Hah! Finally!”
“That’s one way to put it,” T-Bug teases and a shine of blue catches V’s eye, the netrunner wearing Misty’s bracelet. She can’t help but smile.
“A’ight, then… Set your butts down comfy,” Dex tells them. Jackie plops himself onto the larger couch next to T-Bug, comfortably spreading his arms over the back of it while V takes the smaller seat, putting her at an angle to see everyone. She stifles a laugh, seeing Jackie’s leg excitedly bounce up and down.
“Sweet booth, is it soundproof?”
“Jackie…” T-Bug scolds and V stifles a laugh.
“Now, now, Mr. Welles is right. We gon' be goin' over some sensitive material. But if it's all right with y'all, I'd like to start with a question for Miss V… Evelyn Parker - how'd you fare?”
All eyes on her, stomach still twisted in a vise, this is her chance. She’s got to tell him, but she doesn’t want Evelyn hurt. Some fixers will go to any length to get revenge on a client or merc who does them dirty. But, he’s got a right to know the shit she pulled.
“Intel was good, brain dance was exactly what we needed….”
“So, she just wanna see wha'ss good, or was there somethin' else?”
“Honestly?”
“Wouldn’t ask for anything else, Miss V.”
“She’s high risk as far as clients go. Shady as fuck, naïve as all hell, and genuinely thought she could make me another offer.”
“Another offer?” Dex’s brow raises about his sunglasses.
“Wanted me to cut you out for more cash, told her no, of course. But, wouldn’t do business with her again, if I were you.”
“Cut me out… shiiiit, now that’s rich,” Dex laughs, Jackie nervously laughing along, “Clients... never learn, do they?”
“You’re not pissed?”
“Lived in NC too long to blow my top every time some amateur thinks they can take me for a ride. Parker ain't the first and sure as hell won't be the last.”
“Fair enough,” V lets out a sigh, thankful if nothing else that Dex doesn’t seem prone to getting too mad at Evelyn. Maybe she’s being too kind, but she can’t help but think Evelyn is more naive than malicious when it comes to the offer. A stranger to the merc world.
“I do appreciate you sharin' this info, though, Miss V. You see, trust… …is essential in any partnership that's to be long-lasting and fruitful.”
“Figured you had a right to know, so, what’s the plan?”
“This.”
Dex gestures towards the shards on the table, V takes the one in front of her and slides it into her shard slot. UI and graphics lighting up her mask, a map pulling up on the tech.
“Me and Dex've already covered the fine detes. Ops wise, should be a stroll on the beach.”
“Elaborate, I wanna hear it.”
“A Delamain'll drop your asses at the front door of Konpeki Plaza,” a picture of the hotel shows, then two names, “You'll stroll right in thanks to your false identities. Then, with Bug's help, you'll breach the hotel's subnet…”
“Mine and the Flathead's help.” Images of the hotel’s interior and the bot flash by.
“Last but not least, you slip into Yorinobu's penthouse and klep the Relic,” his words bring up images of the heir and his suite.
“Goes without sayin' we do this on the hush - ideally no bodies, not a one.” The shard shows them The Relic and then blips out.
“You'll have T-Bug on comms for the duration. Time for your burnin' questions.”
“What’s our cover?” V asks, they’ve been told a thousand times they’ll be acting like corpos, but that’d be hard to do if they have no idea what their story is suppose to be.
“Hello, Ramón Victorino,” T-Bug looks at Jackie and then to V, “and you’re Hannah Conwell.”
“Ramón - yeah, OK. What do we say we're there for?”
“Biz as usual. Corpo arms deal. Case anyone asks, you there for a bogus meetin' with Arasaka's defense rep - Hajime Taki. Anything else?”
“How do we get in the penthouse?”
“Yorinobu's got barely any muscle. Hardest part'll be penthouse security. If we wanna disable, we'll need to neutralize Konpeki's dweller - elite ‘runner monitoring the hotel's subnet twenty-four seven. Only catch is there's no way to get in the dweller's den from the outside.”
“Hold on, how you want us to get inside a room you can't get into?”
“Trust me when I say whatever hitch you think up. T-Bug's solved it already”
“This is where the Flathead comes in. You'll have to get him in the ventilation shafts, guide him to the dweller and force the dweller to… take a break. Flathead'll stay there, jacked into the dweller, but thanks to that I’ll be able to roll out your red carpet into the penthouse.”
“Anything else?”
“Transports a Delamain?” She has no idea if the company has an ASL sign like most other corporations and doesn’t have time to think of one on the fly.
“Preemest cab company in all Night City… Nada mal,” hackie tells her.
“DeShawn don't ever work with anyone but the best. I consider Delamain just that.”
“Yeah, who needs creepy, nosy cab drivers when you've got a clean AI to get you from point A to point B in style?”
“And how he bags a permit to operate every year's still a mystery.”
“If everythin' goes as planned, Delamain'll drop you back here. If things get sticky, he'll head for the safe house.”
“Which is?”
“The No-Tell Motel. Quiet, no questions asked. Make our next move from there. But I'm flat certain that won't be necessary. Though, there is one more consideration for if it does.”
“What’s that?”
“Hate to put you on the spot, Miss V,” Dex explains, “but if shit goes sour, I’m gonna need to know who I’m letting into the hotel. Mask can’t go with to Konpeki, so I’d sure feel a hell of a lot better if I knew what was hiding behind that thing.”
“Oh… yeah, that makes sense.”
Even if she’d have Jackie with her when shit goes down, Dex is trusting her with this heist. The least she can do is trust him to see her face and not write her off or sell her out to The Herd if the chance arised. Not that she can see that happening anyway…
“Don’t even know why you wore the thing in, V,” Jackie teases.
“Well, there are other fixers here, didn’t want to give away my face…”
V carefully pulls off her mask, feeling exposed all over again, a new set of eyes on her face. The merc knows how she looks; five feet with a head of bleach blonde hair and big gray eyes. Not the picture one conjures in their mind when they think of a capable, strong, badass merc. Sprinkle in her disability and the reactions to her deafness; most people think she’s not a threat, weak.
“That what you’ve been hiding behind that mask? All that fuss, for what?” Dex laughs.
“Hard to take,” she stumbles over her English trying to sign at the same time, “be taken- seriously sometimes when you’re five foot nothing, deaf, and look like…”
“Gutterpunk Barbie,” Jackie cuts in to tease, earning him a sharp kick to the shin.
“Fuck off.”
“Trust me, Miss V, you pull off this job; ain’t nobody in their right mind gonna underestimate you”
“That’s the hope...”
“Any other questions?”
“I got a question. When do we get to the real reason we're all here?” Jackie asks, shooting a wink V’s way.
“Now's a good a time as any. Fresh talent gets thirty percent always, but I'm willin' to make an exception in your case. I'ma cut you a nice, juicy forty as a bonus for your honesty, V.”
“Much appreciated.”
“Ka-ching baby!~”
“Last thing, Konpeki's got a strict no-iron policy. Security gates, the works. So you dawgs'll leave your lead-spitters in the ride, take the Flathead inside in its case.”
“Got your suits from Jinguji on the table.”
“¡Chido!”
“Thanks, Bug.”
“So, not to count chickens, but when'll we see our eddies?”
“All depends how Ms. Parker unrolls herself or her role, but a week, two tops is my guess.”
“And what do we do in the mean time?”
“You sit tight, heads down, 'cause ol' uncle Arasaka be watching. Now, as that ol’ Greek dawg says, life's a banquet - so don't go thirsty, but don't get drunk, either,” he tells them as he leaves the booth, “Your chariot awaits outside.”
“My cue to delta, too. Gotta prep to jack in, be there when you come on comms. Any other issues, now's your chance,” T-Bug tells them, shifting her feet and something catches V’s eye. Delta V emblazoned on the netrunner’s boots, was that there before?
“Plan - your take?” V shakes the thought from her head, must be a brand or a runner thing V doesn’t know.
“Enough, I hope, to put me in a luxury Creton Villa from which I'll never set foot in cyberspace again.”
“Send me a postcard?”
“No offense, but I'm gonna burn any and all bridges - need a clean break.”
“Gonna take Misty’s bracelet with you?” Jackie teases, grinning because he caught it too.
“Shut up,” she tells him, rolling her eyes.
“Uh, just realized something, what’s gonna happen to our clothes? I don’t want to lose my mask…”
“No worries, put them in the boxes, we’ll have ‘em sent back to your places.”
“Alright then, lets get this show on the road.”
“Let's get to work, go ahead and get changed, Delamain is parked out front, uh, okay-”Bug starts to trip over her words when the two mercs start taking off their jackets, “you can use the bathrooms.”
“Eh,”
Jackie and V shrug their shoulders, the outfits are right there. Not much point in dragging them out to the bathroom. The pair shared a bedroom for the better half of six months, a room with one bed. They’ve seen each other naked plenty, boundaries destroyed a long while back.
“Why do I bother,” T-Bug rolls her eyes and leaves the booth, letting the pair change.
V kicks off her boots and takes off her socks, Jackie tugging off his jewelry first.
“So, you’re nerves still going crazy?” Jackie asks her as she tugs off her shirt, his own tossed off.
“What do you mean?” She tugs off her pants, both mercs soon standing around in their underwear.
“Can’t hide that shit from me, chica, been giving me twice as much hell as usual. You’re freaking out.”
“High stakes, Jack, of course I’m a nervous mess. Means I give a shit.”
She pulls the slack on and tugs on the white blouse, buttoning it up. The two of them putting on the corpo clothes, similar in look. Black slacks, white button up tops, black suit jackets, and Misty’s beaded bracelets for protection. Each perfectly tailored for their body types.
“Don’t sweat it so much, V, we got this.” He sticks his fist out.
“Sure fuckin’ hope so.” She bumps her fist to his.
Their street clothes are packed away in the boxes, V puts in her optic contacts and slide on her heels, then they start to make their way out of the booth. But, Jackie stops her with a hand on her shoulder and he taps his throat. She catches on taking off her choker translator, neck feeling bare and odd without the tech. With that they leave out through the club, Jackie carrying the Flathead case and the smaller merc keeps her head down as best she can. Her stomach still in knots as they spot the Delamain in the parking lot.
Her life is about to change forever; hopefully for the best. She’s on the cusp of having everything she’s wanted since she’s come to the city. The verge of earning the respect of everyone in this city and finally feeling like she’s someone, like she’s done something.
So, why does she feel like she’s about to puke?

The daring date
This was prompted by an awesome anon! Enjoy some long overdue Allen60!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Allen60
Allen sat in his office, absent-mindedly staring through the blinds. It has been a week now and still he hadn’t gotten used to the new face in the force. The new familiar face. A RK800 unit, dubbed Sixty not to confuse him with his exact twin in the building next door. To be honest, the SWAT Captain had no idea what to think of the android. Normally he would at least try to keep his prejudices against them at bay. They were people now and Allen had no problems accepting the fact once he had spoken to a few of them. But this specific one… He simply didn’t trust him and still searched for reasons to get him out of his team.
The official file for the bot was spotless. But of course, rumours had spread still and being part of the raid on Cyberlife tower, the SWAT team could confirm them. Sixty had threatened Lieutenant Anderson and would have without doubt killed him, had the android not been shot himself. Right in the middle of his forehead. He was supposed to be dead - every human would be. But no, he was repaired and deviated and thrown into society. Deviancy was supposed to be the wondrous medicine to every wrong an android could possibly commit. But Allen wasn’t so sure when androids had had a certain programmed freedom even before deviation and this specific android had still decided to shoot Hank when there must have been other possibilities to fulfil his mission. And who said androids weren’t capable of committing crimes, just like humans? Who said that Sixty, just because he deviated, wasn’t still loyal to Amanda or a certain belief? And now he was infiltrating SWAT, possibly trying to gain their trust just to betray them later. He knew he had no evidence for his theory, but his gut had proven themselves to be correct almost every time, so Allen would keep an eye on the new android. Who knew, maybe-
‘Captain?’ He looked up to the door, where Frank had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Without knocking, as always. ‘Err… Yes?’ ‘You joining game night this evening?’ ‘Whose turn is it?’, he asked caught off guard. ‘Jensen’s! I think he decided on starting with poker, but I haven’t asked.’ ‘Yeah, I’m in. I think I can manage 7pm.’ ‘Great! I’ll let him know.’
Allen sighed, as soon as he was alone in his office again and decided to try and do some actual work today. In all his paranoia about the new android, he had almost forgotten it was the last Friday of the month – game night. He usually enjoyed them. It was one of these team-building exercises that actually worked as it wasn’t obligatory. Although normally most attended them. The SWAT team really was a team, working atmosphere good enough pulling rank wasn’t necessary most of the time. Allen really hoped the android wasn’t invited. But he guessed not. As in many other points, his team was pretty uniformly suspicious of the RK800 too.
-
It was raining as he parked his car in front of Jensen’s house later that evening. He was a bit late as it seemed, but he was greeted with enthusiasm nonetheless and a coke was pushed into his hand. Most others were already sitting at the table with beer and other beverages and someone hastily gave Allen his seat and poker chips as he was clearly loosing already. A few pleasant hours and rounds later that was a thing of the past as most of the other players were too drunk to remember the rules or keep up a pokerface. Allen had already driven quite a few into surrender and at some point, as if on a hidden signal, they decided to stop playing. What unfortunately meant they settled on the incredibly uncreative idea to play truth or dare.
Allen sighed, regretting his decision to stay sober tonight, but played along. It could still be fun after all. It started quite simple with everyday questions and mostly silly chores to do on dare. Unfortunately, it didn’t stay that way. ‘Are you single?’, was the first question in the truth-category, Allen sighed deeply over. ‘Why? Are you searching for someone?’, he returned hoping to embarrass the man and be able to skip answering. The other’s laughed, but the one that had asked him just shrugged. ‘Yes, actually, but you’re not my type, no offense there.’ It continued on and Allen felt relatively save, having passed the first awkward question. When it was his turn again, he groaned and demanded “truth” again. He could live with his team knowing intimate details about him. He didn’t like giving them blackmailing material in the form of videos or pictures of him doing something ridiculous though.
Unfortunately, his team had other plans: ‘Come on, you picked that so often already. Choose dare, come on. Would be unfair!’ He rolled his eyes, but caved in quickly as others joined the chorus. ‘Fine. Dare.’ ‘Oh, I actually didn’t think you would allow us’, the other chuckled. ‘I have nothing. You got something guys?’ Oh no. Everyone talked over each other, but it was one, Allen would have guessed Jensen himself, who screamed louder than everyone else: ‘Go on a date with the new android!’ It went dead quiet immediately, but soon they were laughing at Allen’s shocked expression. ‘No. No way!’, he protested, but the rest of his team instantly shook their heads. ‘You have to now! No going back on that!’ ‘I… Fuck, fine, I will ask him on a date, you lunatics. But that’s it, if he says no, that’s out of my hands.’ ‘Deal.’
-
Monday came far too soon, and Allen sat in his office once again, watching the android. He swore then and there to never attend another game night ever again. But well, better to get this over soon else they would bug him for weeks. He guessed the chance of the android agreeing was close to zero anyways. The whole week he had never seen him near any other member of SWAT if it wasn’t needed for work and seldomly speaking more than strictly necessary with his colleagues. He would just go there, ask him and then the android would decline and go on with his business. Simple as that.
He approached Sixty’s desk and the android immediately looked up, seemingly preparing to stand up. Allen gestured to remain seated and he relaxed but nodded at him in greeting. ‘Captain. Anything I can do for you?’ His voice eerily sounded like Connor’s, maybe with a little less intonation. ‘Err… yeah, weird question maybe, but are you free tonight?’ God, this was embarrassing. ‘Oh. Sure. Planning a mission?’ ‘Uhm… No, actually it’s rather personal.’ ‘Personal?’ ‘Dinner?’ ‘Oh’, the android blinked, face unmoving. ‘Sure, what time?’ Fuck. Allen had not expected the android to actually agree. Shit. That was bad. ‘At seven?’ ‘Fine with me. Where?’ ‘Err… I’ll send you the address.’ ‘Okay. Looking forward to it.’
Allen turned around and grimaced as soon as he was out of sight of the android. He glared at Jensen who was barely containing his laughter and entered his office to remain there for the rest of the day. Fuck, now he had to come up with a place to go on a date with the murder bot.
-
He drove up to the sole restaurant in all of Detroit that served both android and human food. He had been lucky to get a table for today. He still didn’t know what the hell he was doing here, but well, worst case he would have to be here for a few hours and call it done. He saw the android already waiting at the entrance and tried to at least fake the polite smile. ‘Hello, Sixty.’ ‘Hello, Captain.’ ‘Err… Allen’s fine’, he commented. Shit, even his team didn’t call him Captain unless outsiders were around, or it was a work issue. ‘We’re not at work after all.’ ‘Okay, then hello Mr. Allen.’ ‘Uh, yeah, okay, let’s go in.’ Awkward.
They entered and were shown their table. The waiter spared them any more small talk, taking their orders for drinks and handing them the menus. A few minutes passed as they both chose their food, but after that they had to wait again until the waiter would come back. And the silence that caused was as uncomfortable as it could get. ‘So…’, Sixty spoke up in the end. ‘What exactly is this?’ Allen’s shoulders sagged a little. ‘Do you want the honest truth?’, he sighed in defeat. The android nodded, and Allen answered: ‘We played truth or dare. They dared me to ask you on a “date”.’ The android huffed with a humorless smile. ‘Well, it’s nice being a part of something I guess, even if it means being part of a joke.’ Allen frowned. ‘What do you mean?’
‘Okay, here are your drinks, what can I get you?’ Allen flinched, he hadn’t even noticed the waiter appearing. Sixty wasn’t as bothered, ordering for himself and Allen caught himself to follow short. Once the man was gone again, the android sat up. ‘I mean that I know you and your team could do well without me.’ ‘That obvious, huh?’, Allen asked, embarrassed about their sentiment being this obvious. ‘I mean, In the last week I barely spoke to anyone and no one even approached me.’ Sixty shrugged. ‘But that’s fine, I get you are close with each other, going on dangerous missions. I guessed as much as I got assigned the job. I hope I can prove my worth to you in action.’
‘I’m sorry’, Allen mumbled in all honesty. ‘It’s just…’ Sixty waited for him to continue, but nothing came. ‘Just what?’ ‘It’s hard to trust you when all we know about you is that you held our colleague at gunpoint and the only thing keeping you from pulling the trigger was getting shot.’ The android smirked. ‘Yeah, I get that. I could explain to you how I was under Amanda’s full control that time, being ordered to stop Connor by any means necessary, or be permanently deactivated myself. But I guess it wouldn’t change a thing, am I right?’
He smiled sadly at Allen, who couldn’t help but feel like a total asshole. ‘Sorry.’ ‘It’s fine, really’, Sixty reassured him. ‘I guess it just needs time of us working together for you and your team to realise I won’t suddenly go full terminator on you.’ ‘So you were forced to nearly shoot Hank?’ ‘I mean, I was forced to end the revolution or die. I had to stop Connor for that. And Lieutenant Anderson was his weakness. His partner and only emotional support in this world. I guess if you ask if I was forced to kill him, then no, I wasn’t. But it really is a question of how far you are willing to go to protect your own life when you have only lived for a few hours at that point and don’t know what that even means yet.’ Allen stared at the tablecloth, trying to process what he’d just heard. ‘I don’t plan on holding the Lieutenant at gunpoint ever again, if that means anything’, Sixty carefully stated then. ‘Or put my own life about anyone else’s for that matter. I’ve learned my lesson staying with New Jericho, listening to all these android’s life stories and learning what life could eventually be.’
Allen looked up into the android’s eyes, realising to what extend he had misjudged him. ‘What made you chose police work then?’, he asked with honest interest. ‘Honestly? It was a heat of the moment decision. The DPD was hiring and I knew Connor worked with them. I thought maybe that would make it easier for me. Following my initial purpose and living with people that accepted him despite his crimes.’ ‘Crimes?’ ‘Well, he was a spy for Cyberlife initially before he switched sides. And he did kill at least two humans at Cyberlife tower. If you think about it, he actually did worse things than I have. But maybe I misjudged that.’
The waiter reappeared with their food, giving Allen time to make a decision. ‘I will talk with my team’, he stated as he had disappeared again. ‘I believe we all fell for prejudice here. I’ll tell them to give you a chance.’ Sixty eyed him lifting a brow. ‘Captain, do you really think this is necessary?’ ‘Yes, I think so. I don’t think you should be held accountable for something you couldn’t control.’ ‘I…’ The android looked at what looked like blue pudding in front of him. ‘Thank you, Captain. That really means a lot to me.’
They began eating mostly to play down the serious talk, but the silence really didn’t help making the whole thing feel less awkward and unnatural. Allen thought about what to talk about with someone he basically knew nothing about, but only one thing came to his mind. He tried to find something more fitting, but ultimately, everything was better than the silence. So, he spoke up again: ‘Okay, let’s stop talking about work for a while. Let’s talk about you, if you want, of course. What do you like? Any hobbies?’ That seemed to catch the android off guard. ‘I like… music?’ ‘Really? What kind of music? Favourite genre?’ ‘Err… No. I haven’t listened to a lot yet. Any recommendations?’ Allen chuckled, knowing this was a dangerous question as he liked to ramble. ‘Oh, were to start? I have a whole list…’ ‘Just give me a song, I will listen to it.’ ‘Right now?’
Sixty tapped his temple. ‘Android, remember? Can listen to it in my head.’ ‘Okay, not how you are supposed to hear music, but fine.’ He continued to list off a few of his favourite songs and stopped after he thought to have supplied the android with the essentials for now. Then he continued to eat, coughing when Sixty spoke up again: ‘Okay, I listened to them.’ ‘What?’ ‘I can listen to them simultaneously. I liked them.’ Allen stared at him. ‘Okay, that really isn’t how you listen to music.’ ‘Then teach me: How do humans listen to music?’ ‘One song at a time?’, Allen begun, not having imagined to ever need to explain that. ‘And normally coming from a speaker.’ ‘Inefficient’, Sixty commented. ‘But-‘ ‘If you hear one song at a time, you will never have listened to all of them in your whole lifetime.’ ‘I mean, it’s true, but-‘ ‘And you never get to see the similarities in between them. Analysing all the small changes in frequencies and subtle differences in between genres.’ Allen sat there staring. ‘Okay, I think we enjoy music on a very different level then.’ Sixty laughed. ‘I guess so, yes. But humans are inefficient at most tasks, so I don’t blame you.’ ‘Thank you?’, the SWAT Captain tried, but couldn’t help but smile too. ‘Okay then, what else are androids so much better at?’ Sixty smirked. ‘I have a list. It’s alphabetised.’
The evening was actually quite fun after its initial difficulties. Sixty just seemed to need a jump start to get over his hesitant demeaner. Once they had initiated their personal talk, he ended up unveiling he was actually a quite cocky person, sure of himself and almost stubbornly ambitious. But despite that, he really seemed to care for others, wanting to use his strong suits to help those that needed it. Somehow, despite Allen’s previous impression of the android, he ended up liking him and wanting to get to know him better than possible in one evening.
Unfortunately, that very evening was about to end as it got late and already was dark outside. They paid for their respective meal, although Allen jokingly stated his co-workers had specifically asked him to take him on a date. Sixty just laughed and told him they wouldn’t have to know every detail. As they exited the restaurant, the android turned to him before entering the automated taxi he had called. ‘And? Enjoyed your dare?’ Allen huffed. ‘Actually, I did. Obviously, this wasn’t a date, but it was nice getting to know you. I’m looking forward to work with you and… Well, if you want to do something like this again, I would be up for it.’ ‘Really?’, the android asked. ‘I made it to the second date?’ Allen closed his eyes and sighed somehow not knowing what he had expected. ‘Be careful what you wish for, I don’t want to know what they decide to task me with next games night.’ Sixty smirked and opened the door of the taxi. ‘Maybe next time I will be there to decide myself.’ He winked at the Captain and entered the car, leaving Allen standing in front of the restaurant confused. But somehow intrigued, too.
